Ford Ikon external modifications

Hey Guys...i havent checked this site for quite some time. Had been quite busy with work and some personal stuff.
I managed to remove my old damaged fog lamps and replaced them with mesh grill. I have got a used bumper. Have given it for painting for the moment. Might get it back soon. But not getting enough time to spend on my car. Hopefully the year end would make me a little free. Dont expect anything soon for now.

where'd you get the bumper from? guj? how much?

got it from a garage i regularly go to...in BTM...cost me 2.5k without the painting. this one is maroon. I need to get it painted silver.

Hi Guys,

need help regarding the below.

I had bought this second hand Bumper for my ikon last week from a workshop for 2.5k. The bumper is maroon in colour and my car is silver. So obviously i need to paint it. The workshop has quoted 8k for the below:
1) Bumper (Rs.2500)
2) Painting
3) Some patch work on the side of the car plus the painting there along with some small scratches that need to be repainted.
4) Entire body polish.

Please advice if the price quoted above is worth it. I believe they would be using Dupont paint. I feel its a bit over priced.

I havent contacted any other workshops yet as the bumper is lying with these guys.

Below is the rate from the dealer:

1) Bumper : Rs.6816/-
2) Bumper Painting : Rs.2800/-
3) Bumper fitting : Rs.350/-
4) minor touch-up done free of charge

If the item that you have mentioned in 3) is not a big work then it looks like a bit costly

For alloys, you can probably check this thread if you like the alloys on my car!

For the bumpers, even i am looking for one! Actually i have the old kind of bumper with me right now, have bought a second hand bumper (Flair Model) and looking for options on painting. Also looking out for other kinds of bumpers that might suit an Ikon

Which dealer is giving at this price? 15 days back i enquired at Metroford a rough breakup was
bumper -12K
painting -3K
black piece below the grill -2 k
fog lamps -5k
total -22K

This was the quote that i got for the repair work from Chennai Ford 3 weeks back. Also, i just made the payment a week back for the same quote.

Check the below thread, i have pasted the quote there and it covers most of the things that you had mentioned above
