Where can I get a windshield-mounted/dash-mounted mobile holder for my Sony Ericsson P1i within 500Rs in Bangalore, preferably in Koramangala or HSR layout?

One with a flexible rod would be even better.

Where should I fix this so the Sun does not fall and heat up my mobile.

Car is a Wagon R.
If I keep it very high then the power cord from the lighter end looks bad.
too low and it is right in the sun.

Need power cord as my phone is GPS enabled and that is the primary need for mounting it.

What i do it I tilt it downward to avoid glare from Sun. But don't think anything can be done about cell heating up.

Only other option would be to mount it near HU but that will cause distraction everytime you have to look at roads in map.

Glare is not a problem with my phone display.
But it heats up quite a bit due to the Sun.

Does no one else face this issue?

Even we had the same issue and unfortunately it is unavoidable. For GPS you need to have a clear view of the sky. So the sun, and therefore heat, is unavoidable. Fortunately I drive with my wife so she carries the phone.

You can try getting an external bluetooth GPS receiver. That will give you more options for mounting your phone.

I to have same issue. Mobile heats up too much, to the extent that it stops charging due to heat sensor cutting in. I guess this heat is one of the contributor to decreasing battery life. Not sure how to solve this problem.

One doesn't need a blue-tooth headset to enable him to tack freely using the car's ICE system.

cellphone N73 connected to the Aux in via the hands-free.
holder is a simple plastic holder in my case or can be the vacuum-windshield holder.

Just throwing ideas. Pics attached.

re: Cellphone Holder

I am looking for a cell phone holder that can be fixed in the cup holder. I saw few in eBay. But they are all priced above 1500. Here is an example

eBay India: Bracketron UCH-101-BL Universal Cup-iT Cup Holder Mount (item 270711749383 end time 27-Mar-2011 16:38:08 IST)

Can we find something like this in Bangalore at a cheaper price?

re: Cellphone Holder

Guys can having a cell phone holder mounted on a/c vents cause any issues to the cell or the a/c flow? Can it cause condensation etc to form in the cell due to the cold air ?

thanks

I have air vent cell phone holder. Used it for a day and took it off. Many advised me not to use it as it may damage the phone in the long run. A/C flow is noticeably affected in my case as I use a Note which is big enough to block the air flow.

re: Cellphone Holder

In the BMW X5 I've seen you can fit an iPhone/ iPod that connects directly to the infotainment system. Where can I get a simillar "dock" - I Want to do some mod for my XUV 500. The present USB port sucks big time.
PS it is more for the music and NOT the phone features.

re: Cellphone Holder

I've got this dock for my Galaxy Note. Here's a mini review

Model Number: ECS-K1E1BEG
Compatible with: Galaxy Note N 7000
Price: INR 2200
Seller: Ebay.in
Package Contents: Car Mount, Suction Cap and Car Charger.

Pros
  • Can be used with flip cover
  • Charger and audio out jack present in the dock
  • Car charger part of accessory
  • Camera can be used to shoot pics and videos on the go
  • On docking, the Google talk app activates automatically in car mode
  • Can be used on windshield and dashboard as well (with a suitable adapter)
  • Can be used in landscape and portrait mode
  • Wide range of adjustment options.

Cons
  • Cannot be used with any other phone
  • On continuous exposure to severe heat, the suction cup gives away (very rarely tho'.
  • Quite pricey
