My New Laura diesel...modified to be a "VRS"

Hey Guy,

I am a the dealer for Skoda in Gujarat.... Recently bought and moded a Laura for myself...

Mods done:
Engine: Super tuned (NO MORE TUNING BOXES / FAKE SIGNAL TO THE ECU.. Etc). Bhp: +50 (Total BHP=155) Torque: +100Nm/1900 RPM (Total=350Nm/1900RPM)

Suspension: Lowered 35mm for more agility and to aerodynamic drag.

Tires: Michellin Pilot Preceda 2 225/45/R17 98W (17 inches)

Reviews So Far:

Engine Mods:
0-100 is now dealt with in 5.2 seconds..
The Engine sounds a lot smooth and Drives like a dream.. No sudden /Jarring accelerations.. Smooth power throughout the RPM band. Also, the car now pulls till red line and then some.

Suspension:
The ride height is now comparable to the Octavia. The car's agility is simply awesome... I was able to take turns on the Highway at around 120 Kmph without any dramas at all.

The ride quality is also good.. I didnt find it to be rough and the suspension is not too stiff..

There is negligible Body Roll in turns at high speeds as well as cruising speed.

A word of Caution: Do not use the Michellin PP2s...The tires are noisy at high speeds.. I will be changing to Pirelli P7s (225/50/R17 98Y) by tomorrow, which were put on the car before.

Also, the tuning and all other work is done at our dealership. This will not void the warranty as no external parts (including suspension) were used.

Spadival:
The Vrs has 25 extra bhp.. This would be sorted out with the new exhaust system I am putting in.

Ramie2400:
The Rims are suplied by Skoda.

As for Ice: I am fitting the L&K Minidot Display in the the Instrument Cluster and installing the MFD2 kit for Octavia II, which should look like this:

This will also add bluetooth Phone compatibility, Dvd Playback, Navigation etc to the car.

Post this, the car will get Bose Speakers as well as Rockford Fosgate Sub (Punch 1700 RMS) and a Rockford Fosgate Amp.

Yes, the VRS is 170 BHP. Mine will also be around the same once the new exhaust as well as air filter (K&N air filter) is put in. This should add another 10-15 BHP.

OE VRS is 170bhp.

What mod was done to extract the extra horses?
Can anyone get it done at a Skoda A.S.S. ?
Price involved?
Warranty is voided right?

Laura looks awesome in Red and specs for modded ride sounds great. It will be great if you can share more details on mods and tuning. It is hard to believe that all these changes wouldn't void the warranty but I guess you don't need a warranty

I have done five cars here in gujarat since last week, and two in Bagalore.

The laura and fabia done in bangalore have been to service once the cars were retuned. The guys at the workshop had no clue what had happened. Usually, an official Skoda letter would be givento the customer if the warranty is voided. This will be done when the customers picks up his/her car. This was not the case here.

Also, fire away your questions on the mods.. You will find the answers shortly

askhat,

can you pl tell me more about the MFD unit? Is it MFD2 or MFD3? What is the price inclusive of tax? I though MFD does not give you bluetooth phone which you have to install separately.

Does it make sense to have MFD2/3 because it is mainly used for SatNav which I am not sure that useful in India.
