Thats a very mean looking Punto. The Exotica red is looking hotter than ever.

Wonder if my Bosso Nova white looks good with these mods.

@ Earthed,
Where did you get the Abarth badge? looking neat.

BHPians,
I have a small query. I want to fit the reverse park sensors on my BNW GP 1.2 E to help my wife in parking. I visited the showroom and he showed me the fiat sensors. But he told that it is only available in black.
I wanted white ones to match my car. I asked him if he could paint it like he paints the mirrors for active puntos. He told that it will affect the sensors' performance. I told him that it won't affect the performance.

IMO it shouldn't affect.

1. Can anybody confirm the same?
2. Does anybody know who has got the sensors painted?
3. Is the fiat sensors available only in Black?

PS: I don't want any other brand parking sensors fitted onto my car.

help

@Earthed - That's a great looking Punto there, where did you pick Abarth badge?

@ hemanth.anand - BNW Punto will look great with following mods

- Alloy wheel (HRS) from red punto previous page
- Modded head lamp, tail lamp (from Earthed car)
- Grill treat ment (from Earthed car)
- Black painted roof (or greyish black)
- Red Abarth sticker on sides
- Abarth logo (front and rear)
- Painted ORVM - red

Check it out

Hey Hemanth,

I got my Punto her parking sensors from Concorde Motors, opp. Chirst College. It got the Fiat approved (AutoCop Branded) ones from them and they were..... HOLD YOUR BREATH.....in WHITE!! (Sorry couldn't resist doing that ). I told him that white ones are available as per the AutoCop website. He then made some calls and agreed to get it for me.
It is a Autocop ParkPro and is worth 4000/- (including labour). This model has buzzer and a small display for distance and direction of obstacles.
It comes with 4 sensors for the rear bumper, no front sensors.

^^Approved or non approved 4000 rs is way too much money for the kind of parking sensor system you have got, same sort of good branded reverse parking system can be procured for as low as 2k. The dealerships are minting money on the name of approved accessories.

I guess you are correct on the price part. Rs.4000 does sound too much for basic sensors. But in my case, i got it for Rs.2700/- with the concessions due to delay in delivery of my Punto. All in all, i found White sensors (without painting) in 2700/- is not a bad deal according to me

I bought my car in the same showroom.
Think there is a difference betwwen fiat branded and fiat approved.
I knew that autocop sensors come in white since I had got it fitted to one of our earlier white swift.

@Zenster (or may I now call puntoer)
Did you enquire if it affects the warranty?
if for warranty its not a problem, then i'm ok with autocop sensors.

I'm don't need a front sensor anyways. (even the fiat branded doesn't have them)

But I think the autocop branded has a seperate display-correct me if i'm wrong. the Fiat branded sensors have the display in the centre RVM which is what I would prefer

Yes Bro, you can call me that too

I inquired and was assured that that it doesn't void any warranties on the electric systems. I was monitoring them while installing and they peeled the wiring and did not clip any. It does have separate lil display that i have mounted above the center RVM.

I went in for this sensor system, only because it had White sensors. I didn't really mind it having a separate display.

If you'd like i could email you the pics.

Hope this helps

Yeah, the display is a compact lil thing, but does a decent job.

Just a piece of Advise: You may need to pester the guy who takes care of accessories to get you the white ones... Just so that you are prepared for it .

@ Hammer head, Did you take the picture of this taillight or is it from the internet?
If it is shot by you, can you please tell me if you know the place to get these lamps?

Guys,
I'm planning to modify my punto as below.
Modifying my Fiat Punto-fiat_grande_punto_abarth14.jpg
Modifying my Fiat Punto-fiatgrande_punto_abarth_2008_1280x960_wallpaper_0b.jpg

I have got the mirror caps painted red (I have kept my stock White caps also)
I'll order the Black spoiler and fit the silencer chrome tip.
I'll also debadge the rear.

I want suggestions for the stickering (the Abarth stripe on the sides).
Do anyone of you know where to go (South Bangalore would be great).
If JC road, which is the best shop?

Re: Modifying my Fiat Punto

Check this site
Fiat Grande Punto Accessories for sale

Youll find stickers and everything for a Punto. I think those would look better than the Abarth stickers.

Also think about painting your alloys gunmetal, itll look killer.
