re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

Am I wrong or the only thinking that this bike resembles the Buell 1125Cr with the wasp like shrouds on the petrol tank? A toned down version?

Does not seem to be very entertaining on the figures front but then I suppose a lot of it will go on how well the gearbox can make use of the available power. Does seem to be a very late entry in the quarter liter segment but then I suppose it will still be the first Naked Bike in the 250 category. Rear shots of the bike show its pathetic look and appears to be a very old model from the late 70's.

250 cc twin and 24 bhp
This thing will be slower than the CBR as well.
Now only if they can price it as <1.5L tag.

I think we are jumping the gun here.

Let it roll, let it be test ridden and let's know the price before we make judgements. Not fair to bash-up the baby even before it is born.

One big plus point for this bike - it has a usable seat for a pillion.

Not a real problem; not for me.

Else, will anybody buy a Bullet? I routinely outrun them with my Splendor in city traffic!

I completely agree. Not everyone has a goal to beat other bikes and compete like fools on road. Practicality and comfort is paramount for someone like me.

So, Let's not count chickens before they are hatched and Please lets not make this the Inazuma bashing thread.

Agree with the above sentiments.

Similar to my car - Baleno - at its price point - not really the fastest car, not really the safest car, not really the cheapest car, not the really the most practicable car - but it works for me better than any other car I have had so far.

re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

XBhp has put up a First Ride review with pictures. The key to success for this bike is Price. Suzuki has come very late to the party. With Pulsar 200 on one end and the the Ninja 300 on the other end, it will be very tough for Suzuki. And also it highlights the step motherly treatment and laziness for Indian Bikers by Suzuki.

Actually it should have been YAMAHA who should have cashed in on the riders who got tired of riding 150cc FZ's, instead SUZUKI looks like it walked right into the party, I foresee a huge migration from the FZ crowd towards this. SUZUKI has also built up a fair amount of reputation with the ACCESS and GS150

There was also word of MARUTI stepping in to help the younger brother, exiting times ahead for SUZUKI must say

If there is a decent air cooled, naked 250cc Jap bike, I would buy it tomorrow. I don't want liquid cooling and some other bells and whistles.

Liquid cooling brings in determinism and control in heat dissipation. Thus, letting engine designers to confidently extract more power instead of lowering power levels to avoid overheating.

It is neither a bell nor a whistle, but just an advancement in technique. It does cost a bit more than air cooling.

We will see more of these in future:
1. EFI replacing carb
2. Dial brakes replacing drums
3. ABS being standard (little far)
4. Liquid cooling vs standard air cooling

Costs of these technologies will come down with more adoption triggering more ubiquity.

re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

^^ As far as I have seen, liquid cooled bikes overheat in stop and go city traffic. They have tiny fans and batteries which can't cope. The radiator fins get damaged or clog up pretty easily.

The Yezdi was good enough for me those days! Something like that, with a bit more power and disc brakes will be good. A 250cc Yamaha FZ will be perfect.

BTW what is a dial brake?

Sir,with due respect,do you include liquid cooling in bells and whistles
The temperatures up here north are now hovering around 45 degrees,i do not ride my Air cooled RE in such conditions.I pity the air cooled engines running on 5W30 oil in such conditions.

And if we were to go by ride report-110km/hr at 8K RPM,and an engine that feels busy at 3 digit speeds,so much for a multicylinder 250
It should be priced around 1.1-1.2L,else it is going to be a disaster.

Looks are pretty dated for this ride. For 1.1 / 1.2L I am not sure if people would go for this one.
Lacks the WOW factor for a twin cylinder 250 CC bike.
