re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

According to IAB, this bike will launched on Jan 27 and priced at Rs. 3.13 lakhs!!

http://indianautosblog.com/2013/12/s...3-lakhs-110837

I think this is a very bad pricing if its true. I personally was interested in this bike and was looking to upgrade my aging Unicorn. But with this pricing this I dont think Suzuki will sell a lot of these.

3.5L on road?! I was eagerly waiting for this, but not at this price. Other 250ccs are available for below 2L, and even the Duke 390. No amount of '...but this is different!' can defend such price.

Can't edit the above reply now, but I noticed there is no foot rest on Sari Guard. So on the rare occasions that a saree wearing pillion joins you for a ride, most probably she will burn the sole of her sandal on the silencer!

Bad to average fit and finish, looks that belong to early 2000s - look at that rear and now preposterous pricing. Not sure Suzuki is serious about cracking this ever growing market. The CBR250 still remains the most VFM motorcycle of this segment!

I'm so so disappointed since Suzuki bikes make great work horses and brilliant tourers. Its elder sibling, the Bandit definitely is.

Awesome pricing Suzuki; smoking the right brand

Not sure if CBR is VFM. I 'think' Suzuki's engine would be more smoother etc like Ninja 250R since both are twin cylinders.

re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

In my opinion, Suzuki is continuing with it's weird strategy in India. Until now its Indian bikes were lackluster though competitively priced. The Inazuma seems to be good bike but with that pricing, it's hard to see who would swoon over it for it's extra cylinder compared to the competition.

I also can't see anything really attractive about the Inazuma. Whereas the Duke 390 is a lightweight, street fighter, the CBR is sporty, almost tourer, the Inazuma just looks old-fashioned, heavy and bland. I definitely won't be queing to see or buy the Inazuma.

re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

A reasonable price for this bike would have been about 2.5 ex-showroom. I would have paid a slight premium over the Duke 200 since this engine is twin cylinder which will be much less stressed and overall better for touring than the Duke 200.

But above 3 lakhs this bike makes no sense. I would rather wait for the Duke Enduro 200/390.

Good luck Suzuki, another one to add to your dudd list...

re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

Can someone tell me apart from the good engine, what is the USP of this bike? This looks like a beefed up commuter bike and is odd looking.

To me it looks like the headlamps are from TVS Apache, tiny taillamp, odd looking front mudguard and the boring instrument cluster.

Another USP would be that it will be a damn good mile muncher. I cant think of anything apart from this. But even this wont justify the 3L+ pricetag!

If Suzuki Motorcycle India was serious about selling this bike in India, they should have considered manufacturing it locally and should'nt have followed the CKD route! And as we know already, CKD + Parallel Twin configuration is not a good combination from the pricing POV, keeping the cost down will not be easy with these 2 factors.

re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

I dont think even its mother would like the way it looks. Why would anyone want to take inspiration from a scooter to design a motorbike ? They should have done just that IMO, Made it into a power scoot which is a sort of untapped market. This thing looks gaudy and ungainly and expect a used one (if anyone buys it new) to retail at less than half the OE price. And I expect this to be an awesome platform for custom bike builders...Any idea what kind of frame it has?

Nothing fancy. From the pic, I am guessing its a semi double cradle like the Impulse.

re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

Suzuki loses another customer. Was waiting and hoping for a 2 Lakh price tag keeping in mind Honda CB 250 ABS. Another premature death product from suzuki. Do not know what strategy Suzuki for India. But it looks hopeless. Even after a decade in India, they are yet to get foothold in Indian market. All hope lost for Suzuki. As a die hard fan of Suzuki - me owns GS 150 with 98500 kms on odo - totally disappointed. Now I will go for Pulsar 200 NS.

re: Suzuki Inazuma 250cc launched. *UPDATE* Price slashed by 1 lakh!

I have no idea why Suzuki is doing this:

1. It is no looker - So, no aspirational value built for other bikes in its stable (I remember hearing some really funny names like Slingshot, Heat which are all 100 cc bikes?). I would like to have a picture of this bike in my bedroom. In case I don't get sleep, I'll give a cold stare at this pic and fall asleep. (It is that sleep-inducing'ly boring)

2. It is no power-house: Compared to its 26 BHP, CBR250R makes 25 BHP and is around 1.7L OTR (without ABS)

3. No displacement giant - Same 250cc. A small brownie for having 2 cylinders (which unfortunately doesn't translate to more power)

4. No Fairing - I know of people who chose CBR250R over D390 for the fairing factor. This one has no fairing

5. Not going to be a pricing game - CKD - Enough said

6. No tall FE claims (And people who buy in this category don't give so much thought to this -It is important but not that much)

The only reason why Suzuki may bring this to India is to make the Duke 390 owners happy. I'll have lot of fun in highways passing these bikes after they paid so much more

I welcome this effort of Suzuki with wide open arms.
