Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 to be showcased at Rider Mania?

Royal Enfield has a slew of products in the pipeline, including the Himalayan 450 and multiple models based on the 650cc platform. Now, if rumours are to be believed, the Super Meteor 650 could be revealed as early as next month.



According to media reports, Royal Enfield is likely to showcase the Super Meteor 650 at Rider Mania 2022. The annual event will be held in Goa between November 18 and 20.

The Super Meteor 650 will be the brand’s flagship cruiser powered by the same 649cc parallel-twin engine used in the 650 twins. This engine develops 47 BHP and 52 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch.

Rider Mania has always been the ideal platform to showcase new products given the high footfalls. Earlier, Royal Enfield had presented the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 at the same event.

A very reliable source confirmed that dealer staff training for the new bike is already underway. The actual launch should be pretty close in that case.

RE is using the same levers and controls as found in the Meteor and the J-Platform Classic.

This seems Cruise 650 and not the SG 650, based on the tank dimension and the logo on tank (Similar to Meteor 350). I am sure RE would price this aggressively at least during the launch window.

Does RE have a history of increasing an introductory price later on? Genuine question, because so far I have never been lured by an RE than this one, hence asking.

Not exactly, they do keep bumping up the price after sometime, but no introductory pricing jhoomla till now.

This surely looks an interesting launch, and the bike is a looker too, if electrical are sorted, this bike will be amazing. The engine and clutch combination on twin is spot on, I am hoping they make it even better if not the same, only gripe is hard clutch, which hopefully they fix.

finally this is happening…..

This is going to be a good upgrade option apart from 650 twins. This might be the flagship model as well ( still in range of many ).

Also RE might surprise all and showcase the upcoming Himalayan 450 too.

It will be equally interested to watch the customized bikes from RE.

I am wondering if there would be variants of this bike launched at the same time as well. There were spy shots of a 650 that looked like a Classic as well with the footrests in the standard position. That would be interesting and probably would make up the void left by the Bullet 500's.

This also pretty much confirms it will be launched in India in Rider mania. I am guessing these will carry a premium of anything between 50K-100K over current twin prices.

The dealers are still tight lipped about this. Though rumours have it that this should be available for test rides at across the country any time soon.
