re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

It is amazing how well put together the bike looks.

I will not be surprised if this is priced at INR 399,000.

RE is going to price this bike high..

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

The Motorcycle definitely looks tempting and desirable. I hope if it is Priced upto 3.5 Lacs Ex-showroom, it can bring reasonable sales for RE.

IMHO, the name Super Meteor sounds very Superficial. The prefix Super is way outdated and sounds boring (Even Superman may want to change this in his name).

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

Amazing looking bike, but how is the enfield service nowadays? I might be looking for a new ride, as the std 350 CI bullet in my parking has not been touched for 3 years. Always some niggle or other, and it's engine seized on way to chickmagalur from bengaluru on an elevated bridge trying to maintain 80 kph. After that I used it as city commute as even after re-boring the bike lost its charm.

Considering their pathetic service experience I am wondering that it has changed now.

Looks nice in pictures but WHY RE needs to put all the weight for a 46 BHP at the crank motorcycle! Weight takes away the fun and drastically so when the motorcycle weighs 241 kilos. This must be one of the poorest power to weight ratios in any production motorcycle in the world.

Somebody needs to create a header pipe that does a 2 into 1 and gets rid of the second exhaust.

RE is marketing this as a cruiser, not a sports bike.

A cruiser anyway is not meant for high speeds and corner carving. As long as this does 100 kmph comfortably, it is good enough for our roads and most countries that have a speed limit of 100-120 kmph.

The twin exhausts are a USP of a motorcycle and on a cruiser, twin exhausts are a definite yes or this would have looked just like a Meteor 350 from the back.

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

The bike looks gorgeous and people will buy it just for the looks.
As this is a cruiser, I don't think RE would bother about the top-end performance drop because of it's weight. (39 kg heavier than the Interceptor).
As long as it can cruise comfortably at 120 kmph, it would satisfy the needs of majority of the buyers.
As far as price is concerned, I expect it to be priced at 3.49 Lakhs and then gradually increase it every year like their other models.

Foot rest seems to be very much forward set but once test driven we will know how actually it is.

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

The styling of the bike is decent. RE wiill anyways price much lower than other 650 cc bikes. But still doesn't appeal to me - 241 kg of weight with 47 bhp and 52 Nm is simply inadequate and unwieldy.

Looks like the Iron 883 except for the twin exhausts.

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

I have been waiting for this ever since Interceptor launched, was looking for a cruiser all along. RE addressed all the issues that were preventing me from purchasing Interceptor. Definitely going to book as soon as they open the doors.

Liked the painting pattern of green more than the tourer variant. Need to see if I can customize regular one with all the accessories of tourer.

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

What a gorgeous bike! RE has come such a long way from the days of their first attempts at making cruisers. Still remember the City Bike and the Lightning 535.

I am not a cruiser person but love this platform nevertheless. Just booked my GT650 Mr. Clean and she should arrive early next year. I cannot wait to find out if I can transplant those shiny switchgear from the Super Meteor to my GT!

re: Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650cc, now unveiled

This cruiser will appeal a lot to A2 license holders in the UK. They won't find it as difficult to get out of town and on to the highway as an Indian rider would in face of our urban traffic.

Now I wish RE works on putting the 411cc Himalayan engine or its rumoured upgrade into a comparatively lighter frame like that of the Meteor. That would be a lovely ride within our cities and on our highways.

Awesome.
Enfield is certainly filling in for Harleys with such beautiful products.
I own a Classic 350, and the commanding ride position is such a boon for long drive. Though i don't plan to own Meteor anytime soon, I can bet on it's success (presuming it's priced sensibly).

RE has definitely designed a great looking bike here! Hopefully the bike has better build quality and finishing. These imho could improve on RE bikes.

Now only if Honda brings in the Rebel500...

Parallel twin, 47hp, 45Nm, 190kg wet.

But maybe there are more chances of them creating a CB650 retro single.
