I am also waiting for the delivery this weekend. But reading the messages on non-availability of parts and the fit and finish from Honda, which to be frank did not expect..

I am little sceptical on my decision. The reason is chose this bike was due to weight issue, as I have a bad back so can't handle heavy bike or else my choice was Interceptor. During test rides only this bike really felt very easy through Bangalore traffic.

Had done test ride of FZ250, Interceptor and MT 15 2.0 - I liked the MT 15 as it was also effortless and black colour was very nice. Other colours wouldn't suit me as I am 45 years old.

Test riding CB300R i was surprised that i could effortlessly handle the bike. Expecting the bike by Saturday 28 May 2022 or else Monday 30 May 2022.

Just to keep you informed I owned the first generation RR310 from 2018 to 2020.

Congratulations. Don't worry too much. I am not facing any starter switch issues. MT-15 is a great bike, but Yamaha made a big mistake of selling it with only single channel ABS. I see many people who have Interceptor are not using it much or using it only during weekend rides because of the bulk, weight etc.

The CB300R delivers similar performance and it is very light weight. People just look at the CC, BHP and price and discounting CB300R Which is a huge mistake.

As you can see the CB300R is very comparable in performance with the above bikes. I real world, I don't think there will be a huge difference.

Thanks a lot . That was an encouraging reply.

Did an inspection of my bike at the service center Ulsoor today (27 May 2022) after the bike came from the yard or godown, well to be frank the bike was not kept well in the yard as it was looking drastically dirty. I saw some scratches or may be its a dust which made it looked like a scratch, i pin pointed all what i saw, as the vehicle is already registered in my name. Here the problem is that with related to Honda Big Wing, I booked it in Indiranagar but we are not able to choose the vehicle.

So may be I had to be prepared for any surprises on the delivery day .

I think he is talking about the issue I'm facing. It is documented on the first page. And I don't have any fix from Honda yet.

First of all, congratulation. This is an incredible machine as AMVJ has already mentioned. Certainly, the only surprise you will get is how much you underestimated her performance.

The scratches you saw are probably due to the rain and dust and will be cleaned off with a good wash.

Hope to see the delivery pictures/videos and your initial impression soon

Thanks 7000plusrpm, surely will post the pics. The start switch set has been sometime they ordered right? That's a little concerning scenario.

I had taken some pics at the service station today after they did a little air pressure clean... sharing some.

Looking forward to get my hands on the bike soon.

Re: 2022 Honda CB300R Review

The CB300R crash guard saga (Bikenbiker)

Honda is not providing any accessories for CB300R at the moment. My neighbour is having CB350 H'ness and he mentioned that only recently Honda has been providing accessories for CB350 so I assume CB300R might get accessories at a later date. However, I am not okay to ride without a crash guard. While browsing 3rd party accessories, I find that Bikenbiker is having Hepco Becker crash guard for CB300R. It is eye wateringly expensive at 19K.

I went to the Bikenbiker store in Bangalore and I asked the guy who deal with the sales and he mentioned that the crash guard is compatible with old BS4 and BS6 so I went ahead and bought it.

2022 Honda CB300R Review-20220522_111550.jpg

Downstairs there was a bike shop. That shop handles litre class and high end ADV bikes (a Honda Africa Twin was getting accessorized that time) so it is a perfect place to fit the crash guard.

2022 Honda CB300R Review-20220522_114740.jpg

In the fitment shop, we discovered that the crash guard is not compatible with BS6 CB300R. BS6 bike has a different exhaust design and makes the fitment not straight forward. I had no option but to return the product. Thankfully the fitment shop and Bikenbiker shop are in the same building.

During the fitment Ajit from Bikenbiker was present in the fitment shop and he assured me to resolve this issue either by replacing it with compatible BS6 crashguard from Hepco or from SW-Motech. However, they are unable to get either of these. After a week, they returned the amount I paid for the same. So the conclusion is BS4 and BS6 crash guards are different and please don't order it online as it can be a hassle to return.

After this saga, Bikenbiker now updated the heading on their website. Earlier It was like this:

Honda CB300 R (2018-) Protection - Engine Crash Guard - Hepco & Becker

Now it is like this:
Honda CB300 R (2018-2021) Protection - Engine Crash Guard - Hepco & Becker

None of the vendors, including Zana are having crash guard for BS6 CB300R.
Overall, I don't have any negative feedback regarding Bikenbiker. However, they should double check the product listings to avoid these headaches.

I think may be frame sliders would be good if we can get it, unless there is a alternative option.

Re: 2022 Honda CB300R Review

Ever since I bought the CB300R, my neighbour was bugging me for a trip. He is having CB350 H'ness. I was waiting for the first service to complete. Since that was completed and I have crossed 1000KM, so today we went to the KRP dam in Krishnagiri, TN. It was a ~200KM round trip. There is nothing special about the dam, but it is ten thousand times better and less crowded than Hogenakkal which is frankly a shambolic place in the whole world. One can find more hawkers than the tourists in Hogenakkal.

For a short 1-2KM ride around the dam, we exchange the bikes and I find CB350 is quite smooth. I have not gone past 60KM/H. That said the gearbox is clunky. On the other hand, CB300R's engine is quite gruff but the gearbox is quite smooth. The riding position is much different on both bikes as well. I am not sure whether my back will be fine with the upright riding position in the CB350.

We initially stopped at the Murugan Idly shop, but it was overcrowded. We waited for 5 min and then left, but the parking was quite interesting. There were quite a lot of big capacity motorcycles.

Couldn’t agree more. Have been to Hogenekkal twice but to this place(Krishnagiri Dam) probably 10-12 times. I love everything about this 200km trip. Roads are buttery smooth(have used cruise control in car a few times enroute) , plethora of restaurants on the way to enjoy all sorts of food, ample parking space and most importantly less crowd. Whenever some relatives visit us, I take them here for a day outing (long drive+food). Almost a ritual now along with a visit to Art of living ashram. Staying close to NICE road helps further

Thats interesting. The pictures shows out the natural beauty. Never been to this place or may be I can say to any places.

I am very lazy during weekends, provided I get one (Work in a field where holidays are also somehow like working days ). Don't get surprised when I say, that I haven't visited Nandi Hills being here in Bangalore for many years!!

If given a chance would like to go around or places closer to Bangalore City. Kindly recommend some places around Bangalore city - lets say in a 100 kms range.

Got delivery of my Honda CB 300R from Halasuru Honda Big Wing Service Center.
Though got delivery by 12 PM but due to office calls which they helped with wifi and a space, I could leave the service centre with the bike only by 5.30PM (blame it on my office calls).

It was a good feeling once i started riding the bike from Halasuru. Was feeling very good on my decision.
Expecting many more riding kilometre

Thanks .. hope to start some small rides soon.

I got the tyre hugger from Bandidos Thrissur, Mr. Satish from Honda Big Wing Indiranagar recommended the place. The communication with Bandidos was with whatsapp, they had lots of models. They suggested previously they had fixed the same model for another CB 300R, so I just chose the same model. The cost was Rs 1700+ Rs 120 (shipping). Reached home the third day. Then had dropped it in the showroom, so it was fixed during delivery.

Attaching a couple of pics for reference.

Just an Update: Tyre hugger which i got seems to be hitting the extension edge below the number plate. This is happening in big holes. As its raining in Bangalore all the roads are having huge potholes. Well i thought I need to inform this too all.
