re: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX, now launched at Rs. 2.12 lakhs

I am ok with Gixxer 250 engined ADV - I got my Gixxer 250 last month and the engine is a sweet revving unit with good low-mid end grunt. One can go as low as 45 kph on 6th gear. My Plan is to wait and see how many parts I can retrofit from ADV250 to my Gixxer (I am in search of a good windshield and some scaffolding for luggage mounting)

Seems to be a screenshot from this video around the 3:55 mark.
Even the balloons from the ceiling and the hairstyle of the guy in the background match
Video was published in late 2021 and it doesn't seem to be from India. Had my hopes up there for a second.

So, this V-strom 250 is a beefed-up Gixxer 250 after all!

All details now available in Suzuki India website too:

re: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX, now launched at Rs. 2.12 lakhs

Guys, I'm excited about this one.

I believe the suspension travel has also increased. Because the standard Gixxers have a ground clearance of 165mm while the VStrom has 205mm. Also the seat height has increased from 800mm on the standard Gixxer to 835mm on the V. The graphics seem a bit overdone and I would have loved more tank capacity than 12L.

This is going to be a lot of FUN, if Suzuki have carried forward the exact same engine/gearbox configuration from the Gixxers. Can't wait to take a test ride.

I prefer the yellow (again!)

P.S: So glad that Suzuki didn't name this bike the Master, because that would have made riders who bought it Master-Bikers.

re: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX, now launched at Rs. 2.12 lakhs

Very happy Suzuki did not do a half-assed job on this one. 19 inch front wheel, t̶a̶l̶l̶e̶r̶ ̶s̶u̶s̶p̶e̶n̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ (features page states 120mm of suspension travel on the front. Is this right? Must be a mistake) and solid ground clearance. Windscreen, bashplate, and knuckle guards appear to be part of standard package. No center stand however. Great styling though. Also appears to get bluetooth navigation.

But the 167 kg kerb weight is just heartache. That also makes it a slower bike than the gixxer.

re: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX, now launched at Rs. 2.12 lakhs

The caveat with this ADV is front suspension travel. A mere 120mm seems like what Honda did with CB200X.

re: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX, now launched at Rs. 2.12 lakhs

I can say, Suzuki has a winner on their hands.

Considering the reputation that the Gixxer 250 twins carry (as the present closest alternative to the legendary CBR250R), this is almost like the CRF250L rally edition that will never make it here. The designers have done a great job in making this motorcycle look like the bigger V-Strom models. This is the perfect tool to kill something useless like the CB200X and stand out as a reliable beginner ADV for riders. It's even got enough grunt for the highways!

There's no need to be surprised if Bandidos Pitstop goes ahead and kits it into a terrific all rounder. (It'll truly be a baby V-Strom if someone goes ahead and plonks on spoked wheels on it!)

It basically does what the CB200X was intended to do. And it very well kills the aforementioned.

Good Job, Suzuki!

re: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX, now launched at Rs. 2.12 lakhs

Seems like a great launch !

+ Excellent ground clearance of 205mm !!!! Can be taken off roading with ease
+ Turn by turn bluetooth navigation. With bluetooth being common now its still nice to see navigation as standard on a bike that is designed for touring.
+ Nice package of standard accessories including a tastefully done tail rack, knuckle guards, windscreen and a USB charger built in.
+ Reduced seat height option for those who need it.
+ 19 inch front wheel allows for good off road capabilities with a reasonable 167 kg kerb weight. 20 kgs lighter than the Yezdi Adventure.

The negatives aren't too bad

- 120mm of suspension travel. Lowest suspension travel in its class. Don't think it will have a supple ride.
- Alloy wheels which means no hard core off roading but I don't think this bike is meant for hard core off roading anyways
- 12 litre fuel tank is not terrible but considering they made this bike for touring its definitely not great either. But considering a mileage of 35 kpl you can safely ride for 300 kms on highways before searching for petrol. Some people report even higher mileage of 40-45 if you ride sedately. So in practice the fuel tank is ok.
- The price of 2.05l which puts it in the same price range of the more powerful Yezdi Adventure and the less powerful but more purpose built Himalayan.

This is probably a typographical mistake on the website. The KTM adv has taller suspension than the duke and it has lower GC than this VStrom SX.

Suzuki Motorcycles India doesn't seem to want to spend money to get top quality marketing.

I don't think the alloys are a bad thing because Suzuki puts some tough stuff on. I've taken my 12 year old 72,000 rupee GS150R offroad a zillion times, had a lot of antics with it and crashed it a few times as well. After a lot of bashing about, the plastics are breaking at the mounting points, the rear suspension gave up, levers broke, exhaust dented, handlebar bent, but the alloys have held up immaculately.

re: Suzuki V-Strom 250 SX, now launched at Rs. 2.12 lakhs

Well, well, the 250cc+ 'adv' segment seems to be the hot one right now. Great to have more options, every manufacturer seems to be getting one in.

Hero, keep sleeping- even though you guys had the first mover advantage with the Impulse, it seems to be taking you guys forever to bump the engine to a respectable 250-300!

Sure looks like that, even the teaser images are really amateurish photoshop-type renders that make very very basic sense. Just playing on the word 'adventure'. Hope the bike proves to be much better than the marketing!
