No doubt that baby Ninja's exhaust note is surely nothing to write home about, and but things surely get better after 4k RPM but still on any given day its no match for inline fours.

But its worth every single penny as a complete package, you just cant discard it because it doesnt sound that good.

I mean you know the feel you get when you hear a heavy breather like an R1 or
GSX 1300R Suzuki Hayabusa come from behind or overtake you. Will we get a distinct note to recognise the Ninja. From the reply it looks positive.
You cannot compare it to the inline-4's but surely it does sound distinct once it is revved, and will definitely stand apart in a crowd of pulsars/zmas/R15s

Any Ninja competition expected

Does anyone have any info of Honda / Yamaha / Suzuki launching similar entry level sports bikes in a similar (2.5 - 4 lakh) price range which will be direct competition to Ninja?

Honda might launch CB300R which is i think single cylinder and produces much less power than the ninja hence no direct competition

I wonder why Suzuki doesn't launch its V-Strom 650 series here. It would cost around 3.5-4 lakhs, and is considered one of the worlds best motorcycles in the all-round class (commuting/cruising/off-roading). It would occupy a different niche than the Ninja 250.

Hopefully if their pricing is consistent with the fact that its lower power it would be worth considering. I'm still not entirely convinced on Bajaj's customer friendliness. Would anyday prefer a Honda / Suzuki there (I'm not sure Yamaha is great either).

I went to check out the Ninja once and the sales office attitude was pure pathetic - heaven's knows how they'll treat you if you by it.

On that note, does anyone know how one can go about getting a test ride for a Ninja (in Mumbai)? I had gone to the Vashi showroom and they flatly refused. They don't even let you sit on the bike to get a feel of the riding position. You're supposed to see it, touch it perhaps and buy on that basis alone!!

You wont get that anywhere i guess.
When R15 was launched, there were no TR's for this even.
premuim bikes in india are sold without any test rides.

Buy the ninja, and then get it serviced from a good superbike mechanic i would say.

Over here you can sit on the bike and rev it a little bit, but thats all, even yamaha did not give a test ride for R15, and i am sure neither does suzuki or honda give for its premium bikes, it is not about being bajaj, suzuki or yam, This is india, you can never expect a test ride for a bike which costs more than 90K.

Heard the waiting period has been reduced to 90 days. Check with your PBK dealer once again

Headlamps were turned on - tail lamp on for the same reason. Couldn't listen to the exhaust note.
