My Vista ZX is ready for delivery except the registration work which is under process, may be that will be ready by tomorrow noon. I am leaving Kolkata tomorrow morning for a week to Delhi, I live in a complex with garage at the ground floor which is secured. What to do regarding delivery, should I take delivery without registration papers and collect them from dealer when I come back to Kolkata or take delivery of the vehicle along with the papers when I am back in town and allow the vehicle to be with the TATA guys in the yard!!
Keep it with the dealer for safety purposes. Whom would you blame if there is mishandling in your absence in your building compound?

Re: Tata Indica Vista Refresh : Test Drive & Review

Thank you skumare and gauravdgr8 for your valuable inputs.

I, with my family members have decided to keep the car with the dealer, requested them personally to take care of the vehicle, may be to cover it with newspaper at least or to keep it in shade. We will take delivery after a week

That TD was so pathetic experience & was my shortest Test Drive till to date.
Just upto the Nearest U-turn of the Showroom.

So, how would you compare Quadrajet Vista to TDi Vista ??

The Quadrajet is the same engine as the Swift. Check the review on the 1st page by GTO. You would actually have the same pep factor with more space inside. Go for it. You would not repent.

Expecting my Vista Quadrajet VX to be delivered on Wednesday. Had been to the showroom which had a flurry of activity. About 11 Vistas were being delivered today. Another 16 on Wednesday.

Are these Goodyear tyres asymmetrical or unidirectional? I just zoomed up the image and it says "Side facing outwards". Couldn't get model name though.

Can any owners let me know about the performance of the tyres?

Too late to edit my previous post, maybe the mods can merge the two.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Tata Indica Vista Refresh : Test Drive & Review

Just had a look at the car today. Mine have Bridgestone B250s. The externals and internals looked okay. Will do a PDI in the morning.

I find the lack of photos of the rear seats in this review to be unbelievable! It is supposed to be the USP of the Vista.

Re: Tata Indica Vista Refresh : Test Drive & Review

Test drove Vista VX a few hour back.

Few points in comparison to the Swift:

1. Commanding view of the road ahead, unlike the new Swift which somehow feels too big to be driving from inside (even though it might actually be smaller than Vista).
2. Light clutch, just like Swift. Much better than Diesel Etios/Liva.
3. Front seats are big, supportive and well cushioned.
4. Good ride quality. Feels like you are driving the car over sponge.
5. Good backseat, and very good thigh support in all the seats.
6. Turbo kick definitly there, can be felt from ~1800 rpm.

Overall Vista VX with discount of about 15-20k is a much more value for money than the Swift VDi. You get lumber support, music system, ABS, steering mounted audio controls and much more in the Vista, that too at a lesser price, lesser waiting period.

Oh and did i say Vista don't have the ergonomic flaw like in the Swift (The shin area of the leg keeps hitting the plastic below the steering column - very unconfortable for tall drivers).

Serious contender in 6 Lac Diesel hatchback battle !

Well spotted Mr Eagle Eye! Tata PR deptt. is notorious for such bloopers.

Re: Tata Indica Vista Refresh : Test Drive & Review

Well did a test drive of the VX model in the afternoon today : -
  • Found the car to be spacious and very comfortable to drive
  • The test drive vehicle had done 2,600 kms on the odometer and was silent with hardly any noise in the cabin
  • Did not found the AC to be that effective it was cooling but not that great
  • Ride quality was excellent i test drove with over 4 occupants in the car
  • Went over bad roads and pot holes in HSR found the suspension to be good no issues on that front
  • On AC i found the pickup to be low and weak in 1st & 2nd Gear from 3rd gear onwards once revving over 2000 rpm it was better and really picked up speed this was the most exciting part of the drive for me after that there was no holding back i touched 120 km/hr speeds
  • The breaks were damm good and the car was very stable and steady even at high speeds, as a driver this gave me very good confidence in the car and its abilities.
  • Clutch was smooth and better than my logan, also gearshift was good compared to my older indica V2
  • The front view from driver seat is excellent and i felt like sitting in a plane's cockpit
As of now Tata is offering only 10k discount on Vista and that also for a short duration. The sales guy said that post 10th March there may be a revision in prices and it may happen that they will remove the current 10k discount being offered.

As of now i am very positive on buying the LS model as it fits my budget. Let's see how it goes.

Re: Tata Indica Vista Refresh : Test Drive & Review

Has anyone noticed that in the new Vista's being seen on the road now, the spacing of the logo has gone back to original, that is, from T A T A to TATA.

If anyone has any information on it, can they please share it? This was one of the features i liked.

I liked mine without either of these logos and hence debadged on day-2. I have also seen a couple of Vista's with temp registration plates recently and the logo spacing has gone back to TATA.

Hi Wicked Chauhan and SKumare: Although I got the car in December, what I noticed is that most of the Red Colored ones do not have the spacing, however some of the whites/silvers bought after mine have the spacing. Not sure why this Kolaveri. I too like the spacing. I have still not de-badged as am proud of the TATA logo.

Dushie: The car is simply amazing and you will love it. Your love will grow as time passes by.

Congrats!
