Re: Nissan Sunny : Test Drive & Review

Update: Nissan Sunny XTRONIC CVT test driven by ACI. Report:
http://www.autocarindia.com/Review/3...t-drive.aspx/1. Looks like launch will happen within few months. Would like a diesel AT also but Renault might decline on that option.

Cheers,

Achyuth

Nissan Brings In “lower Than The Lowest” Emi Scheme For Sunny & Micra

Nissan has announced the introduction of a new ”lower than the lowest” Equal Monthly Installment (EMI) scheme for those buying a Micra hatchback or Sunny sedan. The new scheme has been designed to lower the monthly EMI for a customer by up to 40%. It is valid till the end of April 2013.

Salient Points:
  • A 3 year loan on the Micra (Petrol & Diesel) and Sunny Diesel would carry an EMI of Rs. 8,999.
  • The customer must make a down payment of 34% of the on-road price, or exchange their existing car to obtain a trade-in bonus of Rs 50,000.
  • The scheme can include a customised EMI plan for the 36th month also. The EMI for the 36th month will be a larger amount (similar to some bullet repayment schemes).

Nissan has tied up with financiers such as HDFC, Tata Capital, ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra for this offer. The scheme is an attempt by Nissan to revive sales that have slipped by 64% (full report). The Sunny averaged sales of 1,650 units a month this year while the Micra has been going downhill, clocking sales of 1336, 608 and 468 units (respectively) in the first 3 months of 2013.

Hey, did you go ahead with your purchase? Sunny or SX4?

Being a Sunny XV Petrol owner, few points from my side:
1) car has awesome rear leg space, its like a football ground on wheels (I think I'm overdoing it ).
2) huge boot space
3) efficient aircon
4) comfortable seats - have not felt that the front or rear seats did not provide sufficient under-thigh support)
5) good head space as well
6) within city, i'm currently getting abt 14.5-15.5kmpl, which i believe is pretty good for a sedan

I had also evaluated the SX4, but the dealer warned me abt going ahead for a Petrol since the average was an issue.

I guess since you plan for a Diesel variant, things may be different.

Re: Nissan Sunny : Test Drive & Review

A Nissan Sunny is miles ahead of an SX4, it was a wise decision. Enjoy your truely Japanese international class Saloon. I wish you well in life, after 5 years upgrade to Camry then the rear seat leg space will feel like a Golf COurse.

Re: Nissan Sunny : Test Drive & Review

My brother-in-law has booked a Sunny XV Special Edition in Chennai(Avenue Nissan). Now the committed delivery date has crossed and the dealer is saying that it may take couple of more weeks for delivery(already its a month since they booked). However they are also pushing them to take XV version and the dealer will fit the features available in the Special edition. They will be able to deliver this immediately.

I am against this offer because I am sure the quality, fit and finish will not match the factory finish. Also, I have a feeling that the dealer is just trying to make more profit on this. Please share you thoughts on this. Is it ok to take this offer or wait for the Special Edition to arrive?

Congrats to your BIL for the Sunny. Thanks for telling us about this, As far as this prob goes, tell your BIL not to agree for the the fitment of the SE into a regular XV, Better you can change the dealer from Avenue to Jubilant Nissan. Or you can report about this ordeal to Nissan. They will definitely take some actions on this.

Cheers,

Achyuth

Thanks Achyuth!
Yes, I insisted them to stick with the special edition and Avenue Nissan has asked us to wait for 15 more days. We have checked with Jubilant Nissan as well and they also said it will take 15-20 days for delivery. If they delay further then we will take this issue to Nissan.

How do we find that its a factory fitted special edition?

Thanks arun_josie. Now coming to the identification prob, the VIN will have the model code encoded. Now I exactly don't know about this, but will check it out and tell. AFAIK, the VIN is located in 2 places. On in the right q glass and other one is inside the bonnet. Definitely decoding the VIN through the phone will help i think. Hope you find me useful. Hope the ordeal ends soon.

Cheers,

Achyuth
