Saw a "Coming Soon" & "Bookings Open" advert in ToI page # 5 today... with a listen to music (or something similar) kind of tagline for the Evalia. The website is up as well (though with testdrive booking form only):

Guess Nissan is still doing a lot of last minute testing. I spotted a Nissan Evalia tets vehicle on Saturday

Location : Moggapair Main Road . The car was heading from Thirumangalam towards the Chennai Bye-pass behind Moggapair . Had a hard time taking the pictures . The driver noticed us trying to take the pictures and was weaving in and out of the mild traffic to avoid further snaps. Not sure why ? The pictures are all over the internet
Occupants: Just the driver
Color: Blue Green Mettalic
Camouflage : It had very minimal camo . The Nissan Logos front and rear were covered with tapes. The engine model badge covered with tape. but interestign there was no cover of the name Evalia . I could clearly see it . I had red registration plate and Sticker saying Testing .

Got to say that it looks extremely bland when viewed from the back. This could also be because they had tapes covering the extended horizontal portion of the tail-lights. But it had a more stylish front . Going to be an interesting launch depending on the price point , as we dont have any of these semi MPV semi Vans in India

^^^ Nissan is too optimistic with the pricing, & I am pessimistic about their numbers. It is costlier than Duster, change from Renault Nissan tradition.

One would be much happier with a Ertiga instead.

Imo, pricing is a bit on the upper side, but Nissan may be targetting Toyota Innova, and has given enough space under it for the Ashok Leyland version.

So innova is under attack from all sides. Ertiga, xuv, duster, and now evalia. Coming soon are safari storme and ford ecosport. Once the backlog is cleared, the innova and ertiga monthly sales will come down to 4k levels from the current 6k levels, imo.

Very optimistic pricing by Nissan. I am not sure many would prefer an Evalia over Ertiga or Duster or Innova with this price.
