Yes - just as they are unwilling to sell the AT version in India. I've had a series of emails/telecons with their customer relations people. They mentioned today that the AT version will be released in the smaller towns only in 2015. Until then they will clear up pending orders in the metros/major cities.
Here is an extract of an email today (they have been cleverly careful not to put this point orally conveyed, in writing.:)

There are better aftermarket options and 22K is way too high a price to pay for rear cameras. I ordered a set of 2 (front and rear) along with a switch from aliexpress for about 33$ and have connected the output to a Gen 1 nexus7 (which does a lot more than acting as a display for cams) using iOnroad app. Even with all of this - the total spent is <12K |
Sounds great! But I think that must have involved cutting of wires. So, didn't that violate your car's warranty terms?
Hey guys,
Does the titanium version of AT come with different design of alloys?.
I want to get one set please:.

These were the early prototype versions on test. The alloys don't look as good as the ones on our production cars in real life.

Hi viddy,
How are you and how is your health?:)
I know they were from the prototype but one of my bhpian friend bhageerath said they are available in the AT version.
So wanted to check with the other bhpians who got ATs delivered

Doing better but still missing driving the Ecosport. Another month before I am back behind the wheel of my car.
I doubt they will have these alloys on the AT although it maybe possible. Haven't seen a new AT on the roads.

No wire cuts or splices

No same ones. My titanium AT got the same ones. Better to have common ones as we recently found out when the alloy was damaged. Luckily it was just a scrape and was fixed. Could have been replaced if the balancing etc was found out to be bad. It wasn't. But supposed it was then getting a non common unique alloy would have been a headache. You could get them painted in a design or something.:)

Can you elaborate please? EcoBoost is not available for booking?
Sadly, none of the three dealers I contacted in Kerala - Kairali Ford TVM, Kairali Ford Cochin and Malayalam Ford Cochin - are taking bookings for the Ecosport AT.
This despite Ford's insistence that all variants are open for bookings.
This the only variant that my wife will even consider, saying she will never drive a manual transmission vehicle.
Does anyone have any idea whether this situation is likely to improve any time in the next few months?

It is available for booking at Mody Ford, hyderabad.
The problem was dealers discouraged people for ecoboost due to short supply and hence resulted in negative marketing. They were trying to push people for diesel.

It will improve over time.
Wait till a competitor comes up and Ford will then be behind customers:D

According to the lady from Ford who spoke to me yesterday (from their Chennai office would be my guess) the AT bookings/deliveries would begin only by 2015.
Yes let there be some competition and that would light a fire under Ford.:)
