Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Guys something very unfortunate happened with my car few days back.
Had parked my car outside the parking lot of my friends residence.
On returning to my car after couple of hours i noticed dogs footmark on the bonnet and windscreen, on inspecting closely i found several scratches on the windshield caused by the nails of the dogs paw. I don't get it, this never happened to any of my previous car though have noticed dogs climbing up on them either. Now the windscreen look awful during night times and its feels like am driving a car 5-6 years old.
How could this happen? Either the dog was Super strong or the quality of the windshield is not upto the mark in Ecosport (another cost cutting method?)
Is there any way to get rid of it?
All the experts kindly give your input would really appreciate

Even I feel the quality of windshield is not great
I have a few scratches on it (God knows how it came there) and it's a pain at times with the opposite vehicle's headlamp on you

Not to worry, I have few scratches on the windshield. Can be pain while driving since it's on the driver side. I have three fine set of scratches with three lines on each. The quality isnt that great.

Re: Ford EcoSport : Official Review

Hi all,

I need suggestions regarding aftermarket DRLs installation which does not void electrical warranty.

Thanks!

Why don't you just visit the 'windshield experts' in your city?

They'll inspect the windshield (read scratches) and suggest you the necessary procedures to correct the same.

Please do NOT go to the ASC, they straightaway ask you to replace the windshield.

Nopes, check out Ford UK website. Even the handbrake alignment is different.

More than the indicators I'm worried about the hand brake alignment since a left hand drive set up almost makes it impossible to use in emergency. Just too far away.

I got them from the service station. Couple of scratches on the windshield, on the MID, below the ACC. They might have used the same cloth to wipe the entire car, picked up dirt and cleaned the glass and interiors. This happens everywhere. Anyways, not point in telling them. I did tell them and asked for explanation but it left them "scratching" their heads. As Anurag pointed out, windshield expert is the only bet.

Lol. The reason I meant why not to tell the ASC is, they'll spoil the whole issue even more or create a new one altogether.

To try and solve those scratches either a new one can develop or some rattles etc.

I am not sure of the handbrake alignment. But so far for all the Ford models I've seen, the indicator stalks are on the left (which personally I don't find as an inconvenience) .

Hey thanks will do the same.
Looking at others i think its a problem with the windscreen, its getting scratched on easily. Not happy with my car its developing new problems every month, feeling frustrated . Only if ford would have kept the overall quality of everything in the car a bit better i would have paid an extra 50k on the price.

Question - Can ecosport AT manage a trip to leh ladakh? Or will duster(P) be a better option?

I recommend duster-p . You need to take the engine to high rpm at times. A fully manual option gives us the maximum control.

^^ But won't the manual mode of ecosport AT act like a normal stick shift? Or will it upshift at soon as it reaches the red line?
Has anyone taken a trip to leh in an AT car?

^^ I haven't taken the Ecosport AT yet to Ladakh. Next year perhaps...
However, I have taken it to significantly steep roads in Uttarakhand, with four aboard, and driving in manual mode it was able to easily tackle the steepest of inclines and broken climbs. I didn't feel the traction control kicking in though.
