Need some help.

During Engine Oil change, an issue came up with the type of filter. The my Ecosport Diesel (Titanium) had a different one (as in the picture) from what is available in the market.

I am told by a ford dealer that the above filter is not genuine ford. Since it was it's first servicing, I am not sure what it is. The part number for the ones available in the market and the above are same.

Is there difference between Titanium and other models? The available ones which may not be for Titanium does not fit.

Help will be much appreciated.

Regards.

Posting the pictures of the Engine Oil Filter again.

Hi,

I have scratched by front very badly while making a careless turn.

Please suggest places and options to get it fixed in Bangalore. this is the first time anything such happened so I am clueless about what to do?

Should I go to authorised Ford Service centre? I have comprehensive zero dep insurance.

Thanks.

Show us some pictures so that we can get to know the level of damage and suggest accordingly. Ford wont be as expensive as we think. I have a pretty decent dent on the rear wheel arch and when I shared the picture, we all thought it would cost anywhere between 6k-10k, but to my surprise, it was just 3k.

Go to Ford, I would suggest Metro where I have had some good paint job done in the past on my Figo. Per panel should cost around 2 or 3k.

Thanks for replying naveen.raju and sansvk,

Here are a couple of pics, which show the damage.

I am really heartbroken :Frustrati

Will I get a perfect finish as if this never occured? Please suggest.

Thanks again.

Dear PC1686,

This is a minor nick. Even a local tinkerer should be able to bring back the lost glory. Not to worry. If you don't mind paying a little more, assign the job to the ASC. You won't be able to spot the difference once fixed.

Saket

Will I get it paid back by insurance?

And if I got to Ford, should I bargain for price or just pay what they ask? Also, should I tell them what all to do or let them do whatever they do?

I am sorry for such dumb questions as this is the first time I will be dealing with something such stupid:

Hi

In Hyundai atleast they offer to paint the corner of the bumper for fraction of the total bumper painting cost. Bargain for something similar in ford. Should not cost too much probably two to three thousand for painting plus labor.

No problems friend. If you opt for Ford, just let them do their thing. They will do it to perfection. You will not be able to tell the difference.

If you opt for insurance, you will need to pay compulsory deductibles depending on your policy which would be anything in between 1K-2K. Also, you will lose NCB (assuming that you have not claimed/ will not claim insurance during the policy year). So that will have an impact on your next premium. My advice, if the damage costs you less than 3-4K (which ideally should), get it done by yourself.

If you are getting it done by yourself at Ford, you may bargain. If you claim insurance, it may not matter. Remember, the ASC will push you to get it done under insurance, as they can inflate bills and make good profit through the insurer. Hence, they may quote you a higher figure so that you opt for insurance.

If you opt for a good FNG, you can get than done for even cheaper. Say 1.5k-2K.

Regards.

Avoid claiming insurance and save up on your NCBs. A competent FNG will charge a lot lesser and will try their best to match the stock shade.

There are a few FNGs experienced in body works at Bangalore reviewed well by the members here - Trend Automobiles and Sejal Motors. Sai Colorium also does it but has off-lately criticised by their work done.

Don't worry - your bumper requires no denting/pulling work. This is going to be inexpensive.

This is not a major issue. As far as I can see, there's no dent so it's a quick fix. I have these scratches on my car too. AFAIK, ford will touch the section unlike others where they do the hole bumper. Should cost 2k-3k max to touch up. Well, my car's damage is better bad when compared to yours and they said they will do for 3k.

Well if you now have 20-30% or more NCB, do not claim insurance. However if your eligibility for NCB is only from next year, you can claim insurance.
If the right fender is also damaged along with bumper, then claiming insurance makes more sense.

Not to worry at all because the damage is limited to the bumper only. A paint job will restore it back to the past glory.

full wrap in gloss black and matte lagoon blue.

This is not that bad. My suggestion would be to ditch ford. They make a mess of such small stuff. It's mainly plastic bumper painting and touchup of front fender.

You should just take it to trend and ask them to paint it. They can do a better job of matching the paint than Ford.

Ford is only choice for major stuff but these minor stuff are better done outside. Ford's painting charges are much more than outside.
