It's safe to check out your car and do a PDI before you make any payments.

I don't see any need to pay. Just do a pdi patiently and pay once you are satisfied. If the SA says that will cause a delay in delivery by 2-3 days, so be it. Don't be in a rush for quick delivery.

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

Is there anyone reached till first service ?

Please share the FE figures. Most people have shared FE figures from their long highway trips. City mileage figures are almost missing. I came across a couple of reviews reporting city FEs during their first 500km and they were of around 10 -below expectations.

FE figures will help me on my buying decision.

If your car is a diesel then the engine will open up after around 10K of running. Your FE will improve drastically after this.

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

I own a 2009 Aqua Vista TDI model. Yesterday I had an opportunity to test Zest- Diesel with manual gearbox. Test drive was a short test drive and with lots of speed breakers to make it un-enjoyable.

Following are my points:
1) Diesel gearbox power output seemed similar to Vista QJD.
2) Refinement is better than the outgoing Vista.
3) NVH levels seems to be better than Swift Diesel.
4) Gearshift is a delight very light one and reasonable throw length.
5) Interiors are great and material quality is highly improved all though falls short of i20 or Xcent interior quality.
6) The Hood trim which covers the speedometer console was moving a bit and not rigid when I tried to move it to check its strength/durability. It has to be rigid doesnot send a good message to the customer.
7) Dashboard and plastic material quality is soft and good one.
8) Touchscreen system and voice commands were fun. I sorely missed navigation.
9) Suspension seems taut now and not like a boat as in the previous Vista. Previous Vista suspension is comfortable but not taut to give the sporty feeling of being a drivers car. Not with this car, a nice change.
10) Steering wheel was a delight to hold and turn. Light weight with reasonable feedback and not a dead feel. Compared to this my Vista's steering feel is like of driving a truck.
11) Gear lever had low amplitude vibrations. Far better than my Vista but I feel is it a diesel engine trait?
12) Spaciousness is the USP mantra of this vehicle.

If i were to buy one I did go for a Zest petrol with ABS,Airbag and AMT. But this model is not there as of now :(

Its really a VFM vehicle and delivering quality at par or a bit better than the rivals at the same market price.

Could you post some interior pictures, confirming about the colour of your door pads?

Congratulations for your ride

Re: Tata Zest : Official Review

There seems to be a typo or the SA has made a small mistake. As this VIN doesn't correspond to the format given in TBHP's article and various other articles.

Reference: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/buying...cture-vin.html

If N & L are interchanged, it's a Nov '14 car.

This seems to be the new format even another buyer has posted similar Vin code in another forum, other zest owners can clarify on the Vin format
