My 7 year bloke consistently returns an average 13kmpl, even at 120000 km mark. Quite happy with both performance and FE , not an AT though.

Congrats on the beast and do drive safe

Dear M35,

Thanks for the encouraging words.

The MT comes with 5 gears and the AT with 6 gears. So, I guess, the drop due to the AT and the increase due to the 6th gear should nullify each other!

To top it, I am a very sedate driver! I hope I get 13+ kmpl. Let us see....

Girish Mahajan

Mahindra Scorpio Petrol spied in Ladakh .

Toyota launched the Innova petrol and Mahindra is keen on getting petrol powered Scorpio as well as the XUV. Engine specs remain a mystery.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Official Review

I am still learning how to use the Autocop Trackpro website.

When I logged on to the website, I could download a log as follows - for 14 Sep to 27 Sep 2016:

Mahindra Scorpio : Official Review-autocop-trackpro-2016-09-29.png

I think this is very useful.

This is the Live Trace for 14 and 15 Sep 2016:

Mahindra Scorpio : Official Review-autocop-trackpro-2016-09-29-live-trace.png

I love it!!

Note: It can only show for last 30 days!

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Official Review

Recall #3- Mod parts added

Perhaps the brake hose was abrading against the chassis or elsewhere. Two parts were added-

1. Bracket with rubber bush to press fit into existing grommet mount on the damper
2. PVC Sleave coiled around the hose close to the chassis

Attached are the pictures from my car.

Scorpio has DSI Longitudinally mounted Automatic. XUV500 has ASIN Transversely mounted automatic gearbox.

Dear n.devdath,

Sorry I have not been able to check it out. However, most probably, 4x4addict is correct.

I hope I remember to check it during the first servicing at 5000 km. As of today, I have crossed 2200 km is just under one month. I doubt if I will be able to maintain this kind of running. Let us see....

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Official Review

Dear Friends,

It is time for me to get my insurance renewed. And I am getting calls from dealer to renew it from them. The premium that has been quoted for a zero dep. policy from Liberty Videocon stands at INR 25000/- . Seek input from members regarding any bargaining point. The person who called me suggested to go for Liberty Videocon as they have cashless agreement with Mahindra service centers across India. I've asked for a break-up but so far not received anything from them.

I have also received an SMS from VM-MAHIND and let me quote it " Dear Customer, you have received this SMS alert for field service action on your Scorpio. Please contact your Mahindra Dealer workshop for details". My question is this common to receive a SMS reminder from Mahindra for service as my service is due now. Or is this SMS related to something else?

I would really appreciate any help from esteemed members of the community.

Kind Regards

I paid around that amount for 0 dep from New India but for a new car. With NCB, you may get lower value. Shop around to see the best deal you can get.

Dear Timuseravan, thank you so much for your response. So far the lowest quote that I have received is from my existing insurer. I tried to check a quote on on-line portal of Iffco-Tokio and it comes close to INR 28000 for a 0 dep policy. I also checked New India's portal for a quote and they show something in the range of INR 48000 and it is way too high. I checked with another agent with whom I used to coordinate for my previous car's insurance and he quoted INR 31000 for a 0 dep from TATA AIG. I tried to check on policy bazar as well. Though prices there look attractive but they've drastically reduced the IDV of the vehicle. Still searching and therefore any further guidance from members is most welcome.

Kind Regards

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Official Review

Why not check with policybazar.com ? Often they come up with thecheapest rate and have quotes from all Insurance companies at one place.

Re: Mahindra Scorpio : Official Review

I am about to receive my second Scorpio 4WD AT S10. My first I bought in 2011. Now I am looking forward to the improved suspension, lights and other features.

This will be my third Scorpio since 2005.

Best Improvements: Road handling, lights, styling, and better wheels.

Worst Disappointments: It's a pity they didn't put in reversing camera.

There is no detailed information given for warnings. The "Check Engine" warning light should be backed with a text message on the dash giving more information like "cooling water low", oil pressure low etc, etc. Each sensor gives important information that would help the driver or if you are calling for vehicle recovery you can give that information to the recovery service.

A reverse camera can be plugged in pretty easily.

My biggest grouse is the Scorpio's performance in the ASEAN NCAP crash tests.

The results give me shudders...!!
