Re: Fiat Abarth Punto : Official Review

Anyone tried other engine oil apart from Fiat recommended Selenia for the Abarth.

The alternate options I see are Shell Helix Ultra, Castrol Edge and Mobil 1 all 5w-40 fully synthetic.

Doesn't Fiat recommend a different grade for Abarth, I guess its 5W-30. You have some good ones from Liqui Moly, Amsoil and Motul

Although I haven't had first hand experience, I heard many good things about Motul 8100 X-cess and Liqui Moly 5W-40 oils.

Fiat recommended oil for Abarth is Selenia K 5W-40.

But then there's an Abarth branded oil from Selenia range with SAE grade of 10W-50. It's best suited for track days IMO.

Re: Fiat Abarth Punto : Official Review

Would suggest to stick to Selenia K 5W40. Manufacturer recommended oil and grade is always good for this old school engine.

Some more aftermarket parts are ordered and shortly getting installed, hence delayed the report.

I tried a new look with my car, let me know what you guys think. I think I'm dangerously treading on that fine line between being subtle and a boy-racer

Well, it's not yout fault I say. The car itself is very involving and always demands attention.

My wife curses and repents a lot for gifting me this car!!

Yes, had sent it to the workshop for a minor touch-up job, so told them to get this done too. Of his own will the painter removed the brake calipers and painted them red!! Guess that added a few BHPs now

I have removed the stripes from the bonnet, roof and boot, have also blackened out the red fog lamp housings in the front and rear to make it a bit less attention-seeking. But after this latest tyre-lettering mod, I notice everyone is staring at the tyres when I'm at a signal or in traffic. Too much attention!!

Hi - I am interested in Eibach springs, spacers and subframe brace for my Abarth. I need to understand what kind of changes in handling (cornering specifically) that I can expect, could you share your experience.

Also, I am not sure whether you got all of these at one go or one after the other. If you did go for these one after the other, could share the change in ride/handling that you observed specifically after each one of them, that would be great. Thanks!

Re: Fiat Abarth Punto : Official Review

Hi all,

I'm late to the party - I have picked up a pre-owned Abarth Punto today from our forum member. I have driven 50 odd kms so far and it has been very good.

Here's a quick pic I clicked earlier today.
