Thanks, wanderingwolf.
I have conveyed the same and looks like he already booked W11 FWD AT.

The FE that you got was really amazing for a such a big engine/vehicle.
May I know what speeds you were doing to get these figures.

Looking forward to an ownership report from your side.

Enjoy your new procurement. Happy and safe driving!

hi Deemash,

a prudent decision by your cousin I must say.

From Ahmedabad to Vadodara, I cruised at Cruise Control set at 90. Post Vadodara to Mumbai I maintained an average speed of between 80 and 90, with occasional spurts of 110-120 for overtaking.

regards

Drove my XUV W6 AT to Sikkim (New baba mandir next to Nathu La, tsomogo lake, some sections of old silk route), Darjeeling, India Bhutan border in monsoon rains, slush and landslides. Also drove up a muddy mountain trail with stones to reach a WBFDC resort near Paren. The XUV AT is a very competent vehicle. Never ever felt loss of power. I did not have to go up the rocky terrain or any slope at speed, it can pretty much start from standstill if required, even on wet rocky areas. The bridgestones have done 70000+ kms. Performed flawlessly at 14000 ft.

That's very assuring to hear. Is it an AWD or FWD?

OT, how to thank a post on mobile app

Edit : OOPS...W6 must mean FWD only 😋

That’s great to hear Suman. I’m also more than eager now to take my Cheeta too to mountains😌. Soon, I hope💪🏻.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 Diesel Automatic : Official Review

Not sure if this has been covered before (please delete if it did).

Since i had First gen W6 manual before, i was confused weather the service interval is still based on KMS and Time frame (whichever was earlier). But got my query cleared from WYH app through chat.

Now Plush Gen XUV's service interval's are KMS based ONLY. For e.g.

First service has to be done at 1000 kms, 2nd at 5000 kms and 3rd at 10000 kms and 4th at 20000 kms. The only condition is that all free service needs to be completed under warranty (which is 3 years).

Now there is no time frame like earlier which was one year. So even if your running is low and you complete your 10000 kms (3rd service) even after 2.5 years, it still ok as its under 3 years.

This is very good news for a lot of customers who do not cross the stipulated odometer number. They can now save a fair packet over time.

In the interest of safety and life, I would recommend they check the condition of the engine oil using a simple tissue paper test once a year if they do not intend to get it replaced due to the low mileage clocked by their XUV, and a general check up, either on their own or at a trusted outlet.

The fine print in the service manual mentions that Engine Oil has to be changed every year, Brake Fluid every 2 years irrespective of the mileage. I think this is being missed by most people including the Service Advisors.

Can anybody post a solution to fix the frequent AC info pop-ups on the new XUV Headunit? I remember a member posting a solution on team-bhp but unable to find it using the search function of the forum.

I doubt there is a solution for that. Only thing we can do is use AC in manual mode. Then this issue doesn't pop up.

Best solution I have found is keep AC in manual mode. I think Info on the screen cannot be suppressed unless head unit is programmed.

Yeah, I agree with Nitin and Saurabh, there is no other solution. I had this problem of constant pop-ups telling me every minute what the temperature was when I had the AC in auto mode. After suggestions from Tbhp members to switch to manual mode this problem has been taken care of. Now I stay in manual mode and I do not get those annoying pop-ups anymore.

Re: Mahindra XUV500 Diesel Automatic : Official Review

Took a leisurely drive in a friends top end XUV 500 W11 (O) this morning through the usually crowded Bangalore city.

Good:
1. Interior quality wasn't bad at all from what I could observe. Fit of panels that you see normally was good, and the quilted leather seats didn't look like covers.
2. Didn't operate the 7" screen, but graphics look slick and the response when my friend was fiddling around looked fast.
3. Very acceptable sound from the OE music system even when listening to FM, and surprisingly deep bass (subwoofer??)
4. Nice positive ride on the 18" rims with very little roll. No chassis flex or creaks even when going through potholes.
5. Nicely weighed steering that reminded me of my Linea.
6. The gearbox was smooth on gentle acceleration, but think the Hexa's was better.
7. Brakes had a nice feel, and felt progressive.

Bad:
1. Engine was rough compared to the Hexa auto I had TD. The roughness is clearly felt in the steering and in your butt at idle, and it sounds coarse even on mild acceleration. The car has only done about 250 km so might need time to settle in.
2. The autobox got caught out a couple of times when coasting at slow speed. It shifted down a gear and immediately shifted up. Reminded me of a hiccup.
3. Felt big and heavy to drive compared to the Hexa and Compass, both of which felt more car like to me.
