Beautiful. This vehicle looks good no matter which colour I see it in. Buyers must be having a hard time to decide between the colours.

Congratulations Sambhav, igp_79. Black always brings out richness be it color or the roof wrap.
Will be looking forward to your ownership reports. Though Compass is out of my budget, eyeing Renegade in 2019 and your ownership reports will certainly help.

Wishing both tons of happy miles ahead.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Drove the Compass at Jeep Nasik. Just one word to describe the Compass- Brilliant. The one I drove was the 4x2. FCA has got the basic three things perfect- engine, suspension and gearbox. I am thankful to FCA for giving us a different product. Every other car under 20L is a khichdi from an existing product(except maybe the Scross 1.6). The Compass feels fresh. Only three complaints-
1. No cruise control(although I can live with it)
2. Rear bench is best suited for 2 adults. This is actually an issue.
3. No AWD on the sport variant.
For someone who doesn't need the touch screen.etc. The barebones variant should also be offered with AWD. I hope FCA takes care of all these things during the update. Inspite of all this I love the Compass. Kudos to FCA!

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Today’s ET has this article again highlighting how competition is shaken with pricing of Compass and how they have given free publicity to Compass by mentioning its name in their advertisements.

Quoting an extract from the article (page 7).

Brand expert Harish Bijoor says "The gains are very little. Apart from diverting attention of a prospective buyer from a rival brand, in this case Jeep Compass, towards XUV or Hexa both Mahindra and Tata are creating a multiplier effect for Compass by stating the brand name in their own advertisement".
I like the heading of the article.

Agree with you on this point. It really looks smashing.
My neighbour has a black compass and whenever it passes, contrary to my earlier though about it being a small vehicle, it looks quite imposing and fairly big.
The lines are so clean and mean and yet understated. And those tail lamps are lovely.

I particularly found the Mahindra one amusing. Was something like - You don't need a Compass, you need guts. Completely wrong message IMO, that you need guts to own/ drive an XUV.

Ohh

I interpreted the ad as

You dont need a compass to win races
But you need guts - which the XUV has - and the Compass doesnt.

Never thought they were meaning/intending the driver/owner has to have guts !

Love the fact that FCA are not responding in spite to the ads by the others. Super class act. Thats what i love about fiat, they dont lower their own pedigree to competition.

The front is scraping the ground. It's not a very steep incline in the second photo. Not good at all.

Seriously need the Trailhawk bumpers to do any off roading. Are these available as Accesories?

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

Went to the showroom today to have a closer look at the Sport variant, and for a good TD. TD had to be a short one, because the showrooms are still crowded with customers waiting for test drives.

Some pics of the Sport variant -

Really liked the black scheme as compared to the other variants -

The UConnect 5.0 system looks out of place! Felt it liveable in person, compared to the appearance in pics -

Saw a neighbor's brand new Limited in black. Looks very compact from outside, engine was quite noisy too. Not very impressed.

Re: Jeep Compass : Official Review

With the recent GST hike coming for SUV's (7%), Mid-Sized Sedans (2%) and Luxury Cars (5%). The increase in cost for Jeep Compass would be ₹1,00,000 extra, now when exactly the govt wants to put this hike into effect is still not known, I am assuming probably post the festive season - that's the least govt could do for the benefit of the Auto manufacturers/dealers across.
