Re: Mahindra Marazzo : Official Review

Mahindra may not be selling it but getting spare parts and accessories is also getting difficult for current owners. Everything including plastic parts have a wait time on one month in Bangalore. It could be because dealers do not want to keep inventory for long time.

Bumping up the question. Any one used any external fully synthetic engine oil for your marazzo, eg Shell helix 5w-40?

Not specific to Marazzon, however oil change wont have a direct improvement in performance as such. However, it will improve your engine life / refinement.

Re: Mahindra Marazzo : Official Review

Anybody here has downsized to the 205/65 R16 tyres for the 16 inch variants (M2/M4/M4+/M6)?

I was casually checking available sizes and the costs and here is what I found -

The stock size (215/65 R16) has a rolling radius of 344mm.

The 205/65 R16 Tyre (Used in XUV300/Creta) is 337mm (3% or 7mm reduction in height).

For the same tyre brand and model with load & speed ratings remaining the same, the 205 section tyres are cheaper by ~2k per tyre.

For Example -
  • Apollo Apterra Cross - 205 section is 7.2k while 215 section is 9.2k
  • CEAT Securadrive - 205 section is 6.9k while 215 section is 8.2k
  • MRF Wanderer Street - 205 section is 6.4k while 215 section is 8.8k

The difference in cost for such a small change is quite large and I am inclined towards the 205 section tyres.

Yes, the contact patch is reduced. But the tyres' load ratings remain the same across sizes.

Considering the above, would it be a wise decision to downsize to 205 section tyres?

Lower variants of Innova Crysta have 205/65 R16 tyres. So it is definitely sufficient to carry the load and meet the limits of Marazzo. With this downsize, you will lose ground clearance of 7mm but should experience lesser body roll.

I went the other way and upsized from 205/65 r16 to 215/65 r16. Ride is better due to higher side wall height but body roll is more due to same reason. On a Seltos.

I have used default Mahindra diesel engine oil during all my services. This time (35k odo) I went for 40k service which doesn't include oil change. I want to try external fully synthetic engine oil. Did anyone use any? Any recommendations/feedback?

Yes, that is not an issue. You can opt for a better / synthetic oil of same grade and get oil changed.

Today I completed 1.5 lac km in for my shark. First time I am crossing this milestone in a car.
I am very happy with my shark and going strong.

Re: Mahindra Marazzo : Official Review

Has anybody got a suspension change done on their Marazzo? If yes, at what km? Or against what indication / symptom?

I just completed 1 lakh km on my Marazzo without any suspension work. The car now does't flatten bad roads and potholes as well as it used to. There is a lot of movement especially in the back seat. It is quite uncomfortable on bad roads. And because I live in Mumbai and drive around Mumbai, I get a lot of those bad roads.

Re: Mahindra Marazzo : Official Review

Hi, what puzzles me is why Mahindra soldiers on with this car which doesn't even cross 3 digits monthly. Does it make sense?

The capex is already sunk, so they might be trying to milk the resources. However wouldn't it make more business sense to redeploy the assembly line for high demand products? Mahindra has long waiting lists of other model....

Re: Mahindra Marazzo : Official Review

Marazzo is already produced on order basis. So minimum waiting time the dealers say is 3 weeks for white and 1 month for other colours.

My Shark completed 160000 km and 5 years on 7th December. Visited Mahindra ASS for routine 10000 km service. Total bill came around 6700/-

Hello everyone. I've been facing an issue on my Marazzo since some time now. The issue is a momentary loss of power while accelerating. It's not large enough to cause a problem but it's not small enough to ignore. I've usually observed it at lower gears and lower rpm while accelerating. The first time i observed it was on a vacation to Kodaikanal and i attributed it to the lower air pressure in the hills and maybe a choked air filter. At the next service i mentioned this to the SA and it was written in the paper but I couldn't demonstrate it to him and they found nothing wrong. It's been almost a year since then and the issue occurs on every trip now a bit more frequently. I'm a seafarer so I've been at sea since 5 months now and the car doesn't get much road time but my brother says the problem is still there. There's no abnormal noise or smoke or anything just a momentary loss in the acceleration at low speeds like how you'd say the heart skipped a beat. Anybody else faced this problem? The car is due for service this December and I'm planning to get it rectified somehow.
Does the power steering have no feedback and the gauges stop working too? If so, I have the same problem with mine. I even took a video of it. The Mahindra service center guys are clueless as always.

I had a similar issue, except my gauges worked fine. The issue relates to the speed sensor somewhere near the gear box which needs replacement. I often got engine warning light turned ON. Have this sensor changes which costs few 100 bucks and you should have the problem solved
