I have personally dealt with this site many times and haven't faced any issues. You can call them and get the date of manufacturing checked before ordering. Also, Apollo HT2s are available on the Apollo official website as well.

The size listed on Tyremarket is 265/60R18. On the official site, only 255/60R18 is available for HT2, which would be a downsize for me. Again, this evokes a great degree of doubt.

Do yourself a favor and visit your local tyre market. This will give you a much needed clarity. Thar is probably the most popular SUV in the tyre markets, you will find plenty of options as per your need.

Indeed lots of options available for AT and MT in the market, not enough for HT. Which is why the post in the first place.

Btw, the attempts at suggestions is appreciated, the condescencion is not. I have "done myself a favour" many times; the tyres I need just aren't available. Anyway, thanks for the inputs.

I am sorry if it sounded like that but there was not even a hint of condescension in my reply. Maybe I worded it wrong. Still, it is genuinely suggested to once visit an authorized Apollo dealer before writing things off. My friend bought Apterra HT2 for his Bolero just a few weeks back, albeit in a different size but the availability wasn't an issue. If this does not work out, try buying from the website I suggested, they have great customer support. You can confirm the date of manufacturing before ordering.
Cheers

Re: Mahindra Thar 1.5L RWD Review

18000 kms up

The journey

400 days after taking delivery of the Thar RWD Diesel manual, I hit the 18,000 km mark today. It has been a journey of fun. I knew what I was getting, and I also knew what I had to change, thanks to the forum.

The changes

Avo suspension

The stock suspension was swapped out to the AVO Suspension by ARKA motorsports, Coimbatore. It is a 3 hour exercise and this was done when the Thar had done 4500 kms. I knew what the stock setup was capable of by then and am very happy with the swap.

Audio System, Rear camera, headlights and seat covers

I cannot drive without music and the Stock system is very basic. So I retained the HU and changed all the speakers, added a subwoofer, DSP, two amplifiers and significantly improved the audio output. Along with it, I got the rear camera installed, seat covers changed, headlight bulbs upgraded.

Paint protection

3M did a good job with a ceramic coat. I am not much of a car wash person and get the car washed once a month. I don't even wipe or dust the car in between. I am not sure whether this is money well spent.

Service and Maintenance

The Thar has given me no troubles except once when the TPMS sensor was acting funny. The service guys "relearned" the system and erased the error code and all is well.

I have consistently logged a mileage of 15.75 to 16 kmpl till date. This is via the tankful to tankful method though the MID paints a much more optimistic picture.

I have done a few highway runs including one Bangalore and back run with my 80 year old mother. This was a run with just a 15 minute halt in Bangalore and she had no complaints. The AVO suspension sure works on the highway.

Attaching a few pictures.

Cheers

Re: Mahindra Thar 1.5L RWD Review

Greetings.
My Thar RWD Diesel recently went in for a 10,000 km service, and they added 6 litres of engine oil during the recommended replacement.
The booklet by Mahindra recommends 5 litres of engine oil for Diesel vehicles and 6 litres for Petrol vehicles. I tried reaching out to Mahindra for the same, but they kept on saying that it's 6 litres for both the vehicles. The booklet used to have 6 litres as the recommended capacity, but they have now put a sticker on the same that makes a clear distinction between the diesel and petrol vehicles' requirements.

Can anybody who got a 10,000 km service for their Thar RWD confirm if they faced something similar?

That’s pretty much what happened with me too, but I’m not able to understand why’d they do that. Either they should correct that in the booklet, or not have put a sticker at all.
I’m attaching a picture of the section from the booklet, and the list of services with price from the bill.
(Also, this is the first time I’m uploading a picture to the forum. I’ve tried to make sure no personal information is visible. Although, please let me know in case you find something that might give any such information away.)

P.S.: When did you get your car serviced?
