Same with my father’s Baleno.
You can replace the bulb with a Led for better lighting.

Also, it should be well off with normal batteries as consumption is low. Rechargeble batteries are not cost effective in rarely used items.
The motion sensor is based on PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor with a Fresnel plastic lens which will detect only human motion or presence. Also there is ambient light sensor, so it will not turn on during daytime.

Why I went with Ni-MH batteries instead of normal zinc or alkaline batteries as the later chemistry batteries will leak when it's capacity gets depleted. And since only 3 batteries are required and I have got 4, I am planning to do rotation of the batteries once every one or two months.

I did not went with Lithium-ion battery because of the risk of catching fire as these lights will not be designed for automotive or extreme temperatures.

Hi Folks,

One major feature that was missing in Fronx Delta+ is the boot light.
I had ordered the required parts even before getting the delivery of the car.
Similar lacking in my Tiago, and I too started off with an LED spot light. Later, I DIY hardwired a Maruti OEM boot lamp. It's an easy installation if you're familiar with a bit of DIY. Try it out!

Not like it is reaching your spine, but you can feel it when you are driving at low speeds. No issues in the front seat though.

I was waiting for someone to say this. I test drove the fronx and felt the same. It was very evident to me and my better half. The suspension and overall ride quality didn't allow the car to feel premium as it looks on the outside.

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

It is rare to spot a Fronx and a Grand Vitara next to each other, and rarer to see 'em both in the same shade. Spotted this during one of my sojourns.

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

Hi Folks,

I am planning to change the Cabin A/C filter to Activated Carbon in my Fronx so that outside the smell is reduced.

The current cabin filter looks like below and the part number could be 95850M55R00. This filter does not looks like it's either PM2.5 or PM10 and it could be just a pollen filter.
Maruti Fronx Review-6ddf42a.png

I did not find any Carbon cabin filter from Maruti Suzuki for Fronx or 2022 Baleno.
I found one part PI-2384 from PUROLATOR. But this is very expensive.
I also found one part ZC-6013C from ZIP Filters. The price is within my budget but don't know if this can fit.

And will the A/C effectiveness reduce if we use a high density cabin filter ?

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

India's fastest PV to cross 100,000 sales in 10 months since launch - Maruti Suzuki Fronx

Fronx has achieved the big number in just 10 months since its launch. From April-December 2023, the Fronx had sold a total of 94,393 units, which means the remaining 5,607 units have been sold in the first three weeks of January 2024.

- The SUV averaged monthly wholesales of 10,488 units.
- This meant that the Maruti Fronx was part of India’s Top 25 utility vehicles listing, ranking 11th in a very competitive segment, with its sibling Maruti Brezza winning the best-selling UV title of CY2023.

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

Maruti Suzuki looking to rejig Fronx line up.

Fronx Turbo likely to get lower-spec variants in a bid to move its sales closer to projections.

Maruti is already looking at a rejig of the variant line-up to push sales further, specifically the turbo version.
Quote:
Of the five variants, the turbo is offered with the top three, and Maruti could potentially offer lower-spec versions
Maruti could also use the Turbo engine in other models from its portfolio.

Those are not mud flaps but air skirts or air deflectors to reduce aerodynamic resistance

Fronx Facelift (YTB) to launch in 2025 with Hybrid variant. To be extremely frugal delivering high fuel efficiency.

I finally bought the Activated Carbon cabin air filter part ZC-6013C from ZIP Filters for my Fronx at Rs.360/- from Boodmo (now showing Rs.443/- with 11% discount though MRP is Rs.495/-).

The dimensions are same when compared to the OE cabin air filter. See below photos.

Re: Maruti Fronx Review

Fronx vis-à-vis Ignis

I have an Ignis, driven 16k kms. Last weekend I had the chance to drive my cousin’s Fronx (delta+1.2) for a long trip and found some differences between the two Marutis.

Powertrain Fronx is equipped with the new K12N engine with dual jet tech while the Ignis is powered by the older K12M engine. Ignis is by far the better performing car, it’s more responsive and feels effortless in acceleration.
Fronx does pick up speed but needs to be revved higher for the same. In the Ignis, I usually shift to 5th gear @40kmph and it develops speed without a fuss but the Fronx just felt “numbed” down and i found myself stretching 4th gear upto 60kmph before upshifting.
The gearshifts are also smoother in the Ignis and gear lever is placed better. Clutch action is exactly the same in both.

Dynamics/comfort: This is where the Fronx shines. It feels solid and masks high speeds well. Suspension eats bumps well enough. Seats are slightly softer in the Fronx but both cars have excellent seats.

Build, fit and finish: This is also where Fronx leads but only by a small margin. It’s got better plastics (on the door, dash), rolling the window doesn’t cause door card to flex. Fronx doors and bonnet are heavier than those of Ignis. Fronx also has better lighting with all-LED setup.

Yes, I know Ignis and Fronx are not from the same segment, and this review does not make a lot of sense. I still wanted to share my thoughts on how an additional weight of 125 kgs can affect the performance of an engine.
Fronx is a good car but I would strictly suggest to go for the Boosterjet engine if you find yourself flooring the throttle to have some fun here and there. The 1.2 Fronx is boring and commuter grade which is exceptionally fuel efficient(Fronx MID showed 22kmpl after a 500km trip).
