1. Half of the rear connected lights is not working. Facepalm. Had to take the car to service centre just after a day. They said they will have to order that part to be replaced. It will take 2-3 days. I was expecting some issues, but still its a bit disappointing for a brand new Safari. Unfortunately i didn't check it while leaving the showroom after delivery. And i didn't do the PDI as I was out of town.(might be a big mistake on my side, unfortunately). But let's see. Will attach couple of pics.

I guess they got Harrier's tail lamp instead of Safari's. So now they have reordered it. I had never imagined this, but it really hurts to see a new car at service centre workshop and being worked upon. I am not sure if I am being over sensitive, but it was painful to see and hear those sounds while they removed the tail lamp. Its just that a faulty tail lamp casts a shadow on an otherwise outstanding product and it feels like an eyesore every time I see my car in the parking lot. | Final update: I saw my own post about faulty tail lamp on my Google feed couple of days back and thought I should be adding comments here to bring closure to this experience. So my Safari's tail lamp was replaced and the vendor came personally to the service center to replace it. While my initial feedback highlighted the issue about tail lamp, the customer service experience was fine during this incident. They did take swift action to address the issue. Yes, initially I was annoyed and I had kind of bad experience, but I think the service center did whatever was there in their power to resolve the issue. I have to say that they were nice and helpful during this whole incident. Plus they were honest and transparent.
Sometimes, in our busy schedule we forget to mention good experiences / positives and we only focus on bad experiences or negatives. Hence thought of providing closure to my experience. I might or might not face any issues in future. But at least, I am more confident about the Tata customer care / service now.
Also, since I have driven the car for prolonged time now, I can definitely say its really a nice car. I was not sure how will I be able to handle a SUV after driving hatchback for past 10-12 years. But now I have gotten used to the brakes, steering wheel or overall driving. so much so that it feels odd to drive any other car now. Quote:

We are considering Safari but are not sure of our ability to keep the interiors in top shop all the time. Did you by any chance consider Dark edition which seems to have superb interior theme (personal view) that may be easier to maintain? Please let me know! |
To be honest, I am not taking much of a care of my car interiors. I have 2 kids (one is 6 years old and other one is 2 years old), so I am not even trying to keep my car interiors pristine. However, I have bought a back seat organizer which I have hung behind my seat and in front of my kids car seat. So whenever he kicks, the foot stamps are on the organizer and not the seat. I guess, I will try to do something after 1st servicing to maintain my car interiors. Interior maintenance / color theme was never a buying criteria for me, so I did not consider it while buying my Safari.
