Didn't go above 110- 115. High speed stability was good. Car felt planted and experienced no body roll, though highway didn't have any sharp turns and I have a habit of letting go of accelerator at turns letting speed drop by around 15 kmph.

I could feel bumps at city speeds but highway manners were quite good. My comparison car is Carens which loses confidence above 110 and has body roll higher than Syros. I think Syros felt more planted than Carens due to slightly wider tyres.

Re: Kia Syros Review

Have booked the HTX+(O) Diesel AT Black. The Syros will replace my almost 10 years old Jazz V-CVT for city duties. The delivery is scheduled for tomorrow.

Main reason for Diesel AT is to avoid the DCT and also single digit milage of the petrol. Might have to take it for highway spins (Sea link) for DPF upkeep. I am not yet a fan of electric cars but I have feeling this might be my last fossil fuel car.

The covered parking spot I have is suitable only for sub 4 meter cars. Syros ticked all the boxes in the sub 4 meter category just like the Jazz did in 2015. The car will be chauffeur driven and the rear seat sealed the deal.

This will be my first Non-Japanese car and the dealership experience has been good so far.

Re: Kia Syros Review

Wanted to test drive the Petrol AT, but they got the Diesel AT. Felt noisy, sluggish with not much pickup. Tyre pressure was 50 Interiors were very good and comfortable. Will be test driving the Petrol tomorrow.

Re: Kia Syros Review

The non sliding armrest provided in Syros seems useless. It is behind the seating position for 5.8 ft adult, unless I move the seat way behind, it is useless. A sliding armrest would have been very ideal.

Re: Kia Syros Review

It scored a 5 star in BNCAP, KIA is finally taking safety ratings seriously.

Petrol AT is sluggish too .
Diesel AT was not available. Interiors blew me away, so did this cool colour shade. But the car hasn't done well sales-wise, so I'll wait n watch.

Re: Kia Syros Review

Kudos to Kia for their achievement . However, I've noticed that all the crash test results conducted by BNCAP are not below 5 stars(correct me if I'm wrong). Does it indicate that the cars sold in India are safer, or that BNCAP is like that lenient teacher boosting morale of every student?

Yes Pickup was better than the Diesel though. Maybe the Manual will be smooth.

Re: Kia Syros Review

Good to see that Kia has achieved 5 star rating, which was the only gripe for many enthusiasts who wanted safer car.

The only bummer is its over ambitious pricing. Wish they could do some price correction on top variants so that it will see an increase in sales.

Syros D AT would be a good option if I'm looking for a car within the budget of 20L.

And, Kia, please introduce Diesel AT in lower variants as well so that it'll see some sales.

With the 5 star rating, this seems to be a well-sorted car IMO.

Right said !
Though I couldn't get a test drive, this seems interesting.

BTW, It's 21 Lakhs in 'expensive city' Bengaluru.

Re: Kia Syros Review

Just saw a brand new KIA Syros that was rear ended pretty badly by a truck.
Rear hatch was completely gone.
People were saying the Syros braked suddenly.

Could this be the ADAS kicking in?

Actually the position of lights are very weird. The rear indicator is placed very low, as well as only the high mounted brake lights are the only functional one in lower variants, the L shaped lights in the rear doesn't illuminate. I feel this is a serious issue KIA didn't pay attention.

This is what I had mentioned in my post in Dec 2024.
https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/india...ml#post5896802 (Kia Syros: The company's third SUV to slot in between the Sonet & Seltos)

Kia would have to come up with some sort of update with this pretty soon.
