| Re: ARTICLE: RTO Hypothecation Removal Process - Step by Step Guide Hi everyone, I wanted to share my experience for removal of hypothecation at the tardeo RTO, MUMBAI-MH01 First of all, I had to call up the Kotak prime loans on the call centre number after last EMI of my Amaze car. I was told to call back after a week to 10 days from the payment of last EMI. After multiple tries, I could finally connect with the call centre who recorded all my details and then told me that within 5 to 7 days, I’ll get NOC and form 35, which came by courier. Later, I logged in to the mParivahan website to apply online for the hypothecation removal. However, it did not accept the Aadhaar card and had to login through mobile OTP and was informed that I would have to physically submit the documents at the RTO. I had to 1st make payment for the hypothecation removal, which was rupees 258. After that, I had to upload the following documents, in JPEG format with size of each less than 500 KB: 1. RC certificate 2. NOC from the bank. 3. Form number 35, signed by me as well as the bank authority with stamp 4. PAN card 5. Aadhaar card 6. Valid car insurance 7. Valid PUC 8. a front photograph of the car, showing the registration number While uploading, make sure you check the box as it shows some sign, which feels like a tick, but that is just a pointer. I could not upload for some time, thinking that box was actually ticked. After uploading all the documents, you go back to the status and again re-verify Save a copy of the fee paid . Take a printout with you as it will be required at the RTO office Last week on Friday, I went to the RTO office with the following documents 1. Original RC card. 2. Original NOC from Bank 3. Original form 35, two copies signed by me as well as the bank official with stamp 4. Xerox copy of the PUC certificate 5. Xerox copy of the insurance 6. Self attested Xerox of the Aadhaar card 7. Self attested Xerox of the pan card 8. Printout of the payment done of ₹ 258/- on Pariwahan website I checked on Google, which said the RTO office opened at 10 AM, so I reached at 10 A.M. and was directed to window number 15 in the E Block . The window was closed and timing at multiple places was written as 10:30 AM to 2 PM at two places. It was written as 11 AM to 2 PM. After, waiting for about an hour. The window opened at 10:58 AM sharp. The person took all my documents along with the original RC card, which he put in a plastic bag and staple everything together and told me to go to B Block counter number 11 to get stamp on Forum 35 (5 min walk). When I went to the counter, it was closed and the timing was written as 10 AM to 2 PM after waiting for about five minutes the counter opened at 11:15 A.M. The gentleman checked my documents online, stamped and given back to go back to E Block counter number 15. On going back to counter number 15 E block, and waiting in line again, he checked the stamp and gave me another form to fill which included details about me and the car. Once the form was filled, I was asked to get it ‘OK’ayed from E Block counter number 12, 14 or 18. Other two counters were not open, so I went to counter number 18, where the lady again checked all the documents and the form and wrote ‘OK’ on the form. I was told to go back to counter number 15-E Block. So I stood in the line on counter number 11 once again and the gentleman took all the documents, including the original RC card and kept a bunch on his table.I asked if I can get a received sign on another copy of the fee payment, which I had brought with me. But he told that they don’t give any received sign and told me to check on the website about progress of the application. On asking, he told the processing time for receiving the NEW RC after hypothecation removal will be around a month. So the total time spent at the RTO was around 1 hour, from 11A.M. to 12 noon (extra 1 hr as I reached at 10). Will update further once I get the RC card. I am attaching pics of the closed counter E-15, the form with information which I had to fill there and form 35 stamped from B-11 counter (Prosecution window). |
