No I could see, Villiers air filter in the Sherpa. Probably the person who sold the air filter to me got confused with Sherpa and Crusader. Now I can say they both looked identical except the headlight dome. Here the picture of my Ex-RE Crusader.

What I understand (confused ?) after reading this post and going back to the old posts in this thread is that Rajdoot GTS came with one box type air filter, two or three model (?) round shaped air filters. May be I'm wrong or may be few of the GTS listed in this thread used villers airfilter due to unavailability of Rajdoot GTS round shaped airfilter. Please see the pictures below:

Red and Orange color bike with tank pad got Villiers model Airfilter and the Orange color bike without tank pad got some thing different (Is that the original Rajdoot airfilter?
As you said, the first two bikes have the" Original Air filter" which came as O.E ,fittment to GTS bikes ( I mean the Red & orange as first two)
mind, they are not "Villiers filters".
The one fitted in that faded orange bike is "villeirs replica with choke lever"

And about CRUSADER ( your's)
The silencer unit ( exhaust) is suppose to come on the LEFT side & Tank seen in the bike is not Crusader's, it seems to be of Mini-Bullet

Hi, Thanks for info.

Yes, the silencers shown in my Crusader was not the original, this picture was taken when we were restoring the bike. Sent few items including the silencers to chennai for chrome plating and mean while we used a 4 stroke bike's silencer.

About the tank, it is original the tank add-on as shown in the book was not fitted. It was actually sold along with the bike.

Ok, now coming to the main topic Bobby... It is happening I hope to see a Rajdoot Bobby staning in my garage in a month's time.

Before buying the bike, I have collected almost all the parts (All original Rajdoot stuffs) except the tank rubbers and monogram. If anyone here seeing this post and think that you can help me getting a set of tank rubbers and monograms please let me know. Oh yeah i need a stepney too..

The bike I'm going to acquire in a week or two got all original with some missing parts which are already found and collected. When the deal goes on its own tennure, I'm started collecting the restoration needs.

Soon I will come with the pictures of the bike that I'm going to buy here....

Trammway, none of the mentioned parts exist in the pic you have posted.
But I suppose you know that already!

Thats right, I have collected the Ignition key, Head light glass and ring as part of the required head light dome. I got a deal for headlight dome also.

As far as the monogram, rubber pad and tail light they won't stop me doing up the bike hence I will search during the course of restoration. I hope BHPians will show me helping hand too.

I have collected these itmes, as I was not sure if opening up engine may need any of them listed here. As they are OE I don't mind keeping them with me too, as the bike going to stay me for bit longer days.

Hey, Suren, at first glance, this seems to be the list of non-original parts:

Handlebar
Fork & shocks
Headlamp
Tank cap
Foot pegs
Silencer
Tail lamp cover
Air filter
Mudguards (?): where's the flair?
Chain cover (missing)

Maybe you'll be able to gradually keep the restoration going on.

anup: sorry, I forgot to mention that this Bobby doesn't belong to me. It was brought into the mechanics by someone who saw mine getting readied up. However other than the Headlamp everything else as you mentioned are non-original.

Chanu: This Bobby that you have featured, seems very much do-able and as mentioned by anupmathur almost every other item are original. Pick it up soon.

trammway: Thats quite some headway on the Bobby parts, eventhough the engine, gearbox parts are not so difficult to procure. Good job, I shall keep my eyes and ears open for a Bobby for you for sure.

I guess I'll be joining the bandwagon and would be interested in 1 (ONLY).....if it's reasonably roadworthy at present and I find it within my budget!

Shall we continue by pm?
