Oh!! I did not notice. I will check the books thoroughly and borrow it from him. My main interest areas are 118 NE petrol and the S1 with Nissan transmission. Hope I find!!

By the way, I finally have the user manual of a 118NE. Thanks to Ilango for sending me the soft copies.

As we always have FCB meets next to this Central Public Library, the library officials in consultation with Govt. Of Karnataka gifted this book to FCB Founders.

Dear Arun - I have this blue covered workshop manual with me at home. I also have the original Italian workshop manual with me. Please read the section on wheel balancing where it is explained how you can conduct wheel balancing with the wheel on the car. Also read the front suspension overhauling procedure which says that you need to remove the subframe from the car to overhaul the front suspension. I have actually done all this in the service station inside The Premier Automobiles Ltd in 1977. There was a Service Training School which had all Italian special tools hanging from wall to wall on 3 sides of a huge room.

1977 was one of the best years of my life. I used to return home from Kurla to Dadar in a BEST bus (there was only "7Ltd" at that time and I had to wait at least half an hour for a bus to turn up), paying 40 paise per trip. I used to be dog tired by the time I would reach home, my hands and hair would be smeared with grease, my clothes would be greasy and oily for which my parents would shout at me, my whole body would pain and I would feel miserable. But what I learnt in 1977 is priceless, you cannot even dream of it today. You need to actually work with your own hands to really understand. Alas, PAL is no more, a glorious legacy is wasted away!

I am really very happy to note that you shall read this manual word-by-word, line-by-line. Please do so. It has priceless information which you will enjoy understanding. Please never give this book to anybody. Even if someone wants to have a zerox copy, please go along to the zerox store, wait there and take the book back. I have taken at least 50 zerox copies and given to 50 people but I have never given my original book to anybody.

Best regards,

Behram Dhabhar
