Dear Manishalive - I am not a doctor! I am an engineer, working in the automobile industry, rather, "in the middle of the corporate world"! So, for me, my fiats are my necessary "fuse". They provide me with the very fine balance that I must have, for me to deliver the desired results "day after day, everyday". That's why I post on these threads. I make it a point to work on my cars on weekends, it makes me happy! .

This very Select was repainted and alloys changed and made appearance in the FCB meet. Wonder why the change happened. Sure it changed owners.

Unfortunately could not meet you as I had to go to Kolkatta on the 27th. I was returning from Coimbatore on the 26th and I crossed you somewhere short of Salem, could not stop as I was in a hurry. Shall definitely catch up with you when I am in Coimbatore next. I have given your number to a Mr Sreekanth who wants to restore his FIAT, I think it's a 61 or 62 model. He stays near FUN Mall. By the way he is into manufacturing parts for vintage cars. He will get in touch with you.

Did enjoy every moment of the meet, it was definetly worth the 800 km drive. More important was meeting like minded people for the first time and got along from the very first moment. It reminded me of the Mumbai fiat club meet which I attended when I was in Mumbai for a conference, where I met Mr. Behram, Mr. Rony and others.

Very saddened to know this. Had several conversations with him in the past. Had even borrowed the S1 user manual which I found it hard to find around that time.

Looking back at a memorable past

This picture was taken in 1978 near Brahmananda Mutt in Srirampuram, Bengaluru. It was taken on the occasion of my mother’s younger sister’s wedding. I was 4 years old when this picture of me with my father Shivalingappa was taken.

There were very few cars in the family and my father owned one of them — an Ambassador. In this picture, I am posing beside my uncle Mayanna’s Fiat.

Last among the 5 children in my family, I was born 8 years after my older brother Ramachandra. I was the baby of the family and pampered by all at home.

This picture was taken by a professional photographer when my father and I were taking a stroll during the wedding.
