| ![]() Hi there, There is no way you can re-register your car without an original invoice, you will be at the mercy of the RTO clerk. I had this problem when I shifted my 1956 FIAT from Coimbatore in 2008. The RTO guys compared it to some current FIATs and asked me to pay 12,000/- (My dad bought the car in 1956 for 5000/- !!!!!) I met the RTO who said he could not help me. Finally I asked the AASI guys to negotiate and they finally agreed that I pay Rs 5000/- life time tax. As I didn't want to waste anymore time I agreed and paid. So if you don't have the invoice you have to haggle with them to get to a reasonable amount. |

| ![]() I've always had a soft corner for old Fiats. You could say its something I've inherited. This passion led me to TeamBHP and also helped me to meet the people behind Fiat 1100 Club- Bangalore; a wonderful wonderful Club! I don't own any Classic Fiat, neither am I an FCB member, but that didn't stop them from inviting me for the meet on the 19th of April. Thank you guys! ![]() Initially, I had planned on driving down to Bangalore on the 18th, attend the meet on Sunday and return to Mysore, but the Karnataka Bandh on the 18th forced me to reschedule my plans. I decided that I'd take my bike instead of my car and condense the visit to a single day. The meet was scheduled at 9am. I reached the venue, Cubbon Park, at around 9-9.15. A decent crowd was already present by the time I reached. I met up SunnyBoi and together, we were lost in nostalgia for the next few hours! The cars were beautiful, their owners charming and the hosts, ever welcoming and graceful! 'Passion' is indeed a great cornerstone to start a Club! A few pics shared on the FCB Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Fiat1100ClubBangalore/ Group photo! ![]() The Club founders with a 'young' member.. ![]() The cars in attendance.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The wonderful people.. SunnyBoi had remarked that usually, the owners of such Vintage and Classic cars came across as being very different in their behavior, quite dignified and mature. I must say, true that! Like their cars, the owners too age gracefully. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A few pics from my phone ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ..and in the media, ![]() I had an awesome time and do hope to make it to the future meets too! Good going guys! ![]() |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Now here is something fantastic. A British lady named Julia Moore lived in Bangalore in the 90s, and decided to drive a 1954 Fiat. Not just that, she drove it back home in 2000 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Though it mentions she lived in Bangalore, the car is Bombay registered and the pictures too show Bombay, so maybe a mistake? I wonder what became of the car, its been 15 years since. While browsing many years back I chanced upon these images of an obviously Indian dukkar Fiat in European surroundings - we can now identify it is the same car. ![]() ![]() |

Fortunate enough for it to have ended up with a period number plate in the UK though! ![]() But the instant-rust desi chrome hubcaps remain! 'wonder if she thought those were original to the car?! ![]()

BHPian ![]() | ![]() Hi all...I had a lovely blue 1100d 1968, which I was stupid enough to sell in 2008. Have tried to trace the car for a while including trying to call and mail the owner a couple of times, but to no avail! Would anyone have any info? 1968 blue fiat 1100d Regn. No. MEV 4503. If I remember correctly, the name of the person I sold it to was Santosh. Hope its still live and running. |

Just for information, I travelled to Dharwad last week as the company in which I work has a manufacturing plant there. I travelled in a hired taxi and sat in the rear seat for 6 hours, twiddling my thumbs while the driver held a steady 80 kmph. The road, especially after Kolhapur was so good, I really missed cruising on it in my LHD. You will recall that we had agreed to meet midway at Belgaum. So, why not meet at Dharwad? What say? Do let me know. However, if Dharwad does not materialize, I don't mind driving down all the way to Bangalore also! I only hope that it does not rain, as rain spoils the car! ![]() Best regards, Behram

Riding 3 astride in the front seat ! That brings so many memories of traveling from the years gone by. As young kids, the best we could do was the front middle seat, and what a joy it used to be !.
