Helmet looks good. How is the comfort, noise and ventilation? Is this the actual price or discounted price?

Congrats Neil. I'd suggest sticking some reflective tape on the sides and rear part of the lid for better visibility and safety.

Did you pick up a dark visor too? If not, do get one. Its a boon in summers and reduces eye strain and fatigue while riding in harsh sunlight.

Not bad considering that I picked up the high viz one through a friend of mine from the US for 6k. Any idea if Lets Gear Up stock replacement visors and the cost?

I have only used it for a couple of rides so far so I will hold off on a proper review for now. The padding gives it a really snug and nice feel but I will have to wait for it to set in to give a better perspective. The noise I really cant compare because I have just switched bikes as well. I found it to fog up quickly twice today morning (nice n cloudy weather) because I had accidentally left the vents closed. The listed price is Rs 9k and it came with a 5% discount.

Honestly, didnt consider a dark visor because of the excellent weather this time of the year. I'll probably pick it up before summer season. I need to check the visibility (or lack of it) in the nights before figuring out the addition of strips of reflective tape.

Does look nice but if you read this article, you will probably not like to buy it:

http://www.team-bhp.com/safety/open-...l-face-helmets

I dumped my older open face helmet & bought a full face one after reading this article. Thanks to TBHP!

That's why I got the full face and the half helmet. One for city ride and the other for longer distances. Both are ISI certified oem of royal enfield.

Looks more for show off than purpose. They hardly offer any protection on a fall. And for those who feel half face helmets are sufficient for city, you are grossly misinformed. There is no guarantee that if you fall in city impact to the head will be less. And with matters of head, once a damage is done, most of the times it is too costly damage and could be even fatal

Nice one Jaggu, how much did you pay for it ?
Any reason for preferring it over hjc cl17? If you did look at it, that is.

I paid 5015 Inr. Did not bother to negotiate or anything. I had been researching for a good helmet, which meets all the standards while being reasonably priced. Started with Sharp ratings and then i realised this gem had much more compared to say a 15 or 30k popular brand that we Indians know.

My fellow mod bblost pointed me to the following (which i had missed) and my decision was made.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorcycle_helmet

Quote:
In the United Kingdom, many riders choose helmets bearing an Auto-Cycle Union (ACU) Gold sticker as it defines a stricter standard than the legal minimum ECE 22.05 specification. Helmets with an ACU Gold sticker are the only ones allowed to be worn in competition, or at track days.

In the mid-range these are nice helmets. I liked them much much better than LS2 and SOL and had posted pics and short review on this thread way back

They are apparently spanish made. Good choice...Now your forced to take a blue colored bike

NFC, there is an app. Program it to send emergency message with GPS coordinates from phone to preset numbers. Or even make a call.
