Lets see 3 braking scenarios for a car doing say 60kmph in three different conditions :

(A) Sufficient Traction is available : Wheels won't lock up and braking distance will be shortest.

(B) Sufficient Traction is not available (wet/ slippery surface) - Non ABS : Wheels lock up, car skids and comes to rest at much longer distance. Steering control is lost.

(C) Sufficient Traction is not available (wet/ slippery surface) - ABS : Wheels lock up, car skids; ABS kicks in unlocks and brakes wheels. This repeats till the car stops. Steering control is maintained. Braking distance, though more than scenario (A), is much lesser than (B).

So, braking distance in B > C > A.

There are more complex scenarios present, but I tried to simplify in the above three for easy comparison of braking distance.

Yes, the bus wouldn't have gone hayward and remained on the road. Infact, ABS on trailers prevent the phenomenon called 'jack-knifing'.

Does anyone have an idea if the traffic signal lights were working, and if yes, for which lane it was green? Looking at the sudden outpouring of traffic from the bottom of the screen a couple of seconds after the accident happens, it looks to me that either:
- the two wheeler ran the lights which was still red for him.

OR (...more likely scenario)

- The lights had turned Orange from Green for the car lane and Orange from Red for the bike lane. Hence the car sped up in an attempt to beat the Red light unaware that the two wheeler had started moving on Orange, instead of waiting for Green.

Actually it was 6:20 AM in the morning and seems like there was no red light for any side, just the flashing yellow lights.

Red light was flashing which means to slow down and look before you proceed. Unfortunately, in India, nobody cares.

Look carefully, every other vehicle small or big is slowing for the junction and going carefully. Both the biker and the Audi sped through as if it's not a junction.

Secondly just a fraction before the accident, the biker slows down in front of the Audi expecting the car to swerve ahead of him instead of speeding out of his way.

Sorry for a lame question.
Is it just a coincidence or a deliberate act that number plate is broken and registration number can't be known ?

Quite brutal, one can see blood marks. May his soul rest in peace.

The rear left tyre (1st pic) is worn out, almost like a slick! That says a lot.

Basically the car had only one occupant, the driver. May his soul rest in peace. It’s so terrifying to see only the right door panels were the only things which were left intact after the accident. Even the car cabin is a history now. We previously had came across a video where a Mercedes Benz (don’t remember which model) was t-boned by a KSRTC bus and the result was just a passenger door bent. Speaks a lot about the need of safe cars.
