I didn't mean from salutatorian point, just from a safety point. For one's own safety. I have seen accidents where trucks running amok mount dividers, go to the other side, run on shoulder where people park or stand and drag them along. Just an advisory. No law barring that.

For a moment, I thought this was the origin of the expression shipshape. Sadly, an internet search destroyed this wonderful hypothesis!

Look closely, even the Bolero driver flew left from drivers seat to passenger seat, probably not wearing seat belt.

Also, looks like bulldozer driver is trying to run away.

First of all the scooter rider was wearing something which is most dangerous thing to wear while riding a two wheeler, the helmet was easily removed upon collision with the car bonnet, strap was not locked most probably which is common for many such casual riders on the road, the lady was not wearing a helmet. So the rider was at fault in many ways already. Lastly he couldn't hold the combined weight of the scooter and pillion on that minor slope at the left side. I appreciate the car driver (although he was not at fault) for stopping and rushing towards the lady to help her.

We really have to appreciate the locals there for showing such effort and humanity in rescuing both the passenger and his car. Wish the Swift is still drivable as there is not much damage to the body and engine it seems.

The young jcb drivers in Kerala nowadays are very rash, they think they are inside a Honda Civic. They overspeed often. Recently there was one jcb driven by a young guy (less than 25) plying up and down past my house to a nearby construction site. The road is very narrow and he would have been doing a speed of 50 kmph for sure, I was scared that any moment he would take down my compound wall.

Not at all. A high number of fatalities occur due to people needlessly loitering around roads. This is an important safety rule.

One should always stop far away from a road at a restaurant, fuel station or similar area and avoid being near the road as a vehicle could lose control and hit you. Shoulders of a road are not for parking or hanging around. You only park there in an emergency. In the video we are discussing, there was a business with a large and empty driveway right next to the biker and all he had to do was pull in there and be much safer.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

I am not familiar with the JCB models sold in India. I could be wrong. Here are my observations

1. Brake failure theory is not correct
2. There are specific instructions to be followed when driving backhoe loader on road

Below position (boom, arm, and bucket - backhoe side) to be followed for the machine that has separate stabilizer legs at the each rear corner. In this type we can slide entire backhoe portion to do some special work. This driving position is due to additional weight of slider frame, rear guide frame, and big stabilizer related parts. You can see that entire rear backhoe section is close to the rear and is parallel.

Below position is to be followed when driving on the road in machine where there is no slider frame at the rear, it has comparatively lighter main frame and stabilizer is mounted at the centre. You can see that entire backhoe portion is to be kept perpendicular to the rear when driving on road.

Looks like machine in the accident video is first type but he kept the backhoe position as in second type. This will not cause big problem if you are driving at lower speeds but very dangerous at higher speeds. Machine will start jumping due to weight imbalance and braking efficiency drastically decreases.

Looks like he was driving fast and could not stop the machine. Bolero guy helped him to stop and saved biker in the process.

I have seen many people running away from cops when being asked to stop most of them are doing it to avoid a challan. But what if one of them is a dreaded criminal? It is the duty of everyone to stop when asked to by the cops. If you decide to run leading to a chase by the cops you are asking for trouble.

Cops are no saints but neither are the people trying to flee.
Wow!!! Is everyone who avoids being stopped by a cop is with a dreaded criminal?
Do you nuke your house to kill a mosquito? (of course am exaggerating here)

Agreed, the biker might have violated some rules and was running away from the cops. Does that warrant the cop to tackle the biker in such a manner at that speed?

The cops can note the registration number and send him a challan. OR take a warrant and arrest him. Should we not expect the cops to follow rules and procedures?

After several accidents, this was officially evaluated in GB some years back, and controls put in place to limit risk of police chase.

Their policy has changed in recent years. The moped based crime rates have also fallen significantly since the new tactics became common.

So as per your logic everyone should violate through a check post and cops should sit there with a camera to note down the registration number and book them after a crime had happened like a rape or bomb blast. And later a challan can be issued to a fake registration number and an innocent soul harassed for years to come who has that registration number.

Bravo 👏

Going by your logic, cops should stand with their guns armed and shoot and kill anyone who does not listen to them.
