I am also planning to travel from Bangalore to Chengannur on 20th Morning. Can some one tell me the bangalore-Kumaly- Kottayam route. I want to avoid the palaghat-trichur route.

Regards,
Gopi.

Almost the same distance, the Trissur-Angamali-Muvattupuzha route is shorter by some 20-30 kms compared to the Kumili route.

Thanks HVK. Really useful. I have decided to take this route atleast while returning from Kottayam.

Problem while going is, 3PM is the earliest start time possible and we are travelling with whole family and hence no 100Kmph+. Chances are like we would reach Dindigul by 9PM and Kumily by 12AM. Not sure how safe is it to travel beyond 10PM in this route since road will be isolated and mistly. Or may be I should park in Kumily and take a nap till 4AM and proceed.

But on return, no problem since I can easily reach Kumily by 6PM starting around 3PM.

Safety may not be an issue on this route, although it may be misty in some parts. I have myself driven through this stretch by night without any problems. Maybe it is a better idea to halt at Dindigul or Theni instead of coming to Kumili so late in the night, and leave early in the morning.

I will be taking this route on 20th early morning to Pandalam. It's 630km from Marthahalli Outer ring road to Panadalam. It's anyway better than taking NH47 at present road condition.
BTW - Is there any good eateries between Kumili and Mundakayam.

I need to go to Arnamula, and if you are interested , we can plan to start together. Where in Bangalore you are put up. I will be mostly going by car if my train tickets are not confirmed...
PM me your mobile no.

Regards,
Gopi.

Yes. Kumily has lots of restaurants. Kuttikkanam also has one of two decent restaurants but not during late hours.

Even I am on this route on 20th morning , travelling to my home town Manimala (10 kms from kanjirappally, and hence taking the same route through dindigul). I think this can be a good Onam drive. I stay in CV Raman Nagar.

BHPians: I am planning Bangalore - Palakkad on Aug 20th, time undecided (preferably around 10 AM or 12 PM to start from Bangalore)

Route will be: Bangalore (ECity) - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Salem - Coimbatore (L&T bypass) - Palakkad - entirely on NH

Anyone planning the trip around the same time? Please let me know at 98866 27595

Note: Seat Available as well - preference to Team BHP members :-)
