Am returning from coorg and have to reach Whitefield (Hope farm). Since it is Friday am afraid of evening weekend traffic. Google maps is suggesting this route which does not go straight through the city. Any other suggestions apart from this?

The traffic is normally high on Sun evening. I dont know about Friday evenings. I follow google maps recommendation unless the difference is very small between routes. If difference is small I stick to time tried and tested route. The route marked by you goes through narrow roads and Varthur can become a nightmare. I would suggest to recheck on google maps once you near the decision point.

If you start before 2PM, traffic should be ok as you are travelling against the traffic. That said, Coorg - Mysore you will get lot of local traffic. From Coorg to Whitefield, taking NICE road is fastest. If you reach Kengeri post 10PM, can consider taking city road via Market. This is shorter and takes about same time.

This one doesn't go through Varthur. It goes through electronic city flyover and then through hsr layout and joins marathalli through Orr.

Sorry - that was not clear from the map.
I have tried different routes and different times and it always felt that I should have taken a different one. The best route to be taken is very dynamic and depends on traffic so you just need to decide at that point of time. Add 15-20 minutes to what google maps tells you for safety.

Planning to Self Drive from Mysore to Coorg. Any suggestions on self drive rental services in Mysore (apart from Revv and Zoom Car)?
