Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Any recommendations for a safe and family-friendly place in Kharagpur? I'll be travelling with my mother.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Any suggestions on a resort in Corbett area where we can relax and do walks and / or dip in the pool. We would prefer something on the riverside. I think there is a Welcomhotel property and another one by Radisson. Anyone been to those?

Similarly in Rishikesh area as an alternative. We were looking at Lemontree Premier but we are not sure if its by the river?

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Please recommend safe and comfortable accommodation options for a group of ladies visiting Kochi for a college project (5 member group, staying for 5 days); preferably located close to Fort Kochi/Marine drive.
Any good AirBnB options?

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

We, a group of 11 people, are planning to travel to Kanyakumari and wonder if anyone recently visited/stayed at Kanyakumari.

I need some suggestion about hotel accommodation at Kanyakumari. We will be staying only one night there.

Prefer something with parking facility (for a 14 seat traveler).

You can check Hotel Rajeshwari International, its little away from the sea but has good parking space.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Hello Everyone,

Requesting your opinions and suggestions on stay at the following places for a somewhat lengthy road trip I have in mind. My route is: Kochi - Kannur/ Bekal - Udupi, Murdeshwar - Goa (Doodhsagar) - Bijapur - Shirdi, Nashik - Bijapur - Bangalore - Kochi. I'm looking at places around or under 4k for 3 people, that have parking, a lift and clean rooms/ washrooms.

Kannur or Bekal: Kannur I'm plan for Krishna Beach resort or if not this, Gateway Bekal in Bekal. Just adding both as I'd like anyone who has tried both to suggest if one is better. I'm very new to this area but would like to cover Bekal fort for all I've heard about it's beauty.

Murdeshwar: I was recommended RNS residency, which seems aptly located, but a bit on the pricey side.

Goa: Booked Arco Iris Boutique Home stay (tried multiple times before, and I love the place) and Nature's Nest (recommended by a friend)

Nashik: I'm very confused here. I have Ibis, Grand Rio which seem decently priced, but would like to get your inputs here. I just need a place near Grand Rio (where a few friends are booked for a wedding)

Thanks your recommendations.

We visited Kanyakumari on 13th November and stayed in a small property called JPM Anchor Inn and the rate was Rs.1300/ per double room for a night.
It was a small property with 7 or 8 rooms.

It is just 5/7 minutes walking to the beach/temple etc., but no restaurant inside the hotel.

Very calm and quiet place also had a nice parking area.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

I will be taking a morning flight from Mumbai airport next month and instead of directly travelling from Pune, I am planning to stay overnight at a nearby hotel. Let me know if anyone has any recommendations. Looking for a decent hotel/apartment options within 30mins from Mumbai airport.

We stayed in Ellora Heritage resorts during our trip to Ghrushneswar Temple.
This hotel was good and stay was comfortable.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Hi Team,
We are a family of 4 people(2 adults, 2 kids 10 and 3 year old) planning a tour of 5 days for Hampi, Badam, Aihole, Pattadkal and near by places.
Please suggest tour iternery, places to stay(in range of Rs.3 to 4k) and vegetarian food options. We would be travelling by our own car.
We also would be visiting Hubli on our way back for Thakur peda.
Thanks very much,
Ramki

Since you are driving and therefore will require safe parking for your car, I assume the places in Hampi Bazaar wont work for you. I stayed at Padma guest house one night and another at Raju and wont wish it on my worst enemy.

So that leaves staying across the river where there are plenty of options (and I don't have a particular choice they all seem decentish) or something near Kamalapur. I wouldn't say I like the idea of staying in Hosapete because you are too far and therefore too late to make it to the sunrise from Malyavanta hill. I see there is a ''Tamarind Tree Wayside Amenities'' which is quite well located, within budget and has parking, but it also shows me only stand-alone cottages which you may or may not want to stay in.

For Badami, Pattadakalu and Aihole, stay in Badami and do not miss Mahakoota. Banashankari is Okayish (their tower is nice, but temple is rather mid). Again, stay in Badami because you want to be there early before the hordes descend. Not sure how much you can do in a day, I think I spent two across these five spots and I was alone, had a car and driver at my disposal and got tired. You may want to look at Mayura Chalukya for the combination of location and price.

If you are making a detour to hubbali anyway, try to visit (any of) - Itagi, Lakkundi, Annigeri, Gadag for their superb north Karnataka architecture temples. My pick is Lakkundi and its en-route to Hubbali.
