Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Can someone suggest a good vegetarian restaurant AFTER Salem, but BEFORE Madurai on the NH 44?

Thanks in advance.

Hotel Temple City - several branches that start to turn up quite a few km before the Madurai bypass.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Any pointers to a good homestay around Chikmagalur, my preferences are:
  1. Going with my family ( wife and 2 year old daughter)
  2. Near Chikmagalur, so as to reduce the travel time from Bangalore
  3. No plans to go out anywhere, so would prefer good options in the homestay (good food, estate walk, any activities)
  4. Would prefer homestay over any resort for privacy and budget

Any suggestions are welcome...

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Are there any good hotels with 24 hours check in option? I will reach the hotel at 2:00AM and check out at 08:00 PM. Could not find any option online. Booking hotel for two days for a 8:00 PM check out does not feel reasonable.

Oh my bad, thanks for pointing it out.

I am visiting Daman. My fight arrives in Mumbai at 9:00 PM Friday. The plan is to drive to Daman with a friend. Reach the hotel at around 2:00 AM. Spend the next day exploring the UT and check out from the hotel at around 8:00 PM to catch 3:00 AM flight from Mumbai airport.

It will be really helpful if someone can suggest a place which accepts 24 hour check-ins (preferably near beach).

Hello, I have done this quite a number of times. First, identify the property via booking.com. Get their contact through google. Call them and give them an advance for 24-hour check-in/check-out. Most of the hotels do accept 24-hour check-in/out rather than the standard 12 PM to 11 AM. Also, the reason for suggesting booking.com over MMT and others was, I have experienced much positive change of checkout times with them than those with MMT.

Don't book through any of the portals and just find the hotel online, then call them directly for a booking if you want flexibility like 24 hour checkin.

We stayed in Sharada comforts around new year. It is a neat and clean facility. I found couple of minor issues with cleanliness and water drainage but these are acceptable. It was walkable to the temple, something me and my son did multiple times. In the past, I have prefered staying at the gateway and commuting to Sringeri, which worked out fine too

A note on restuarants, you are better off trying the food at Sharada comforts. No other place is a patch on the food there

Any suggestions on stay in Hyderabad and Nagpur for a journey from Bangalore to Jabalpur? Looking for the safest options - preferably 3 or 4 star hotels.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

You can try the Radisson at Hyd. If you are 3-4 people together, there is the Marriott Service Apartment which is very good. I haven’t checked the Tariff of late.

There is also a Lemon Tree executive at HiTech city. A Fairfield Marriott too.

All these are closer to the ORR’s.

Sometimes the Sheraton at Gachibowli provides good rates online. They are superb.

I know this may be a bit late but posting this as a general tip for everyone.

I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express in HITEC city, Hyderabad during my KA-MH drive. Excellent value for money place. Very courteous staff and great COVID management measures. 2 rooms cost me just ₹4K for a night!

Highly recommended!

On a different note, does anyone have a recommendation for a one night stay in Solapur for next week? I have zeroed in on Hotel Kyriad on the NH50 bypass looking at the cleanliness ratings.

Any suggestions are welcome!
