Hi everybody
I have to be on a sea beach for some days (Don't have to swim in the sea)
Beyond Dahanu,Bordi and Daman thought of Udvada.
Do we have any member or a frequent visitor who can guide?
Googled and found 3 hotels viz Ashishvangh, Globe and Paradise.
Has anybody stayed there and how good are they?
How far are they from the beach?
What about eating places? Prefer Gujarati thalies rather than non veg Parsi meals.
Please help

What is the best option to reach Lonavala from Pune airport?

If it is a taxi, what is the approx fare from the airport ?

If it is a bus, is it available near the airport?

Best way is to hire a taxi. You can get one right from the airport where there is a prepaid taxi counter (traveltime). However, this will be expensive. If you need help PM me I will connect you to taxi company who can give you cheap rate as their taxis frequent that route.

The distance is approximately 50-60 kms from the airport.

Share Taxi is a very good option if one wants to travel quickly from pune towards Mumbai.

KTDC Periyar House is the best place to stay n Thekkady since it is right inside the WLS at the water's edge. Stay there also assures you of boat ride tickets. Car parking - plenty of it.

I have no idea about Waterscapes.

Hotels in Vizag NH5

I have been traveling to JH solo in month of April. My plan is as follows

1. Start around 8 PM from Bangalore and reach Vizag by 12 PM or so next day.
2. Get a hotel in Vizag on NH-5 and sleep for 6 - 7 hours.
3. Start again by 8PM to reach JH next day by 11AM - 12 PM next day.

I want hotel that is situated on NH5 itself as I do not want to go anywhere from Highway. Hotel should provide AC rooms as it will be mid summer in April end. Hotel should be clean probably have restaurant as well for Lunch & Dinner.

What are the choices of Hotel available in Vizag? Any recommendation?

Periyar house is an economical option in Thekkady and they helps you to get boat ticket.There are 2 other properties by KTDC (Aranya Nivas and Lake Palace) which is more expensive than Periyar House. Lake Palace is very expensive.
Another info is Waterscapes in not in Alleppey,but at Kumarakom near Kottayam.Hope Kumarakom is your planned destination.You can also consider Abad Whispering palms in same price range(no alcohol).

In my last trip to Kolkata I stayed in a hotel called "Sea City Grand". Just 50 meter away from the NH. You also have a restaurant with in walk able distance. They charge 1500 for double bedroom with complementary breakfast. You can also try Hotel Haritha (GOVT) which is just 1.5KM from the NH with no traffic.

Great, I found the location on Google Maps of Sea City Grand and it will be very convenient for halting mid-way. I would not like to go 1.5 KMs away from highway as I will be on tight schedule. Crossing Vizag itself is big headache as it takes lots of time.

Last time, one FM Bhaskar Mandapka helped me cross Vizag smoothly without any traffic from some inner roads. Surely, I will miss him this time.
