Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Any recommendation for a good hotel/resort near Vajreshwari/Ganeshpuri area? Cleanliness is #1 priority.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Any recommendations on a resort for a 1N trip near Dahanu/Bordi. Cleanliness, open grounds (for a 6 yr old kid) and good food a must.

Hi, a quick update, GoIbibo is having upto 40% discounts on domestic hotel booking. We could get accommodation at Royal Orchid in Mysore for 4k.

Hi
Hotel Pearline is a good option. It is full for this week and generally on weekends.
I will be staying there from Monday to Friday.
Regards

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

We are a few students planning for a trip to Goa 'after' new year, tentatively between 3rd and 10th of Jan. I am aware that new years is pretty expensive there, hence we thought of going there after new year. Hence, can anyone lead me to a serviced apartment or a group accommodation that can hold around 10 people. We aren't looking for a luxury setup but we need a clean and a decent place to stay for two or three nights. The lesser the cost, better. I had been given a quite of 10k a night for a huge villa. So if theres something smaller and cheaper, it will be welcome since we have a tight budget.

Please let me know of any such place. Goa BHPians please help!

check out Airbnb - LINK
I used top go to Wikimapia and search for hotels names on the map for location, and then search them on the web directly.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Planning a trip to Kumarakom next week.

ITPL - Hosur - Salem - CBE - Palakkad - Thrissur - Kochi - Kumarakom.

Any good places to stop for coffee and bio-breaks after Salem?

Thanks in advance.

And, is there a better route than the above?

About 22 Km after Salem on the Sakari bypass there is a Saravana Inn on left side, about 500m before the Vaikuntam toll plaza. Clean rest rooms, good place for coffee/snacks as well.

Beyond L&T bypass Madukkarai-Walayar-Palakkad-Alathur there is road widening work & some diversions, little rough, you may want to avoid.

Instead take the 4 lane upto Avinashi, turn left towards Mangalam. This turn off is just after the Tiruppur town turn off.
Continue onto Palladam-Pollachi-Kollengode-Alathur-go across the NH 47 to Alathur town and take Pazhayannur-Chelakara-Wadakancheri-Thrissur, roads are good, 2 laned and will avoid the work in progress sections of NH 47.

Or At Kollengode turn left towards Nemmara-Vadakkencherry and you merge onto NH47 here. Continue straight towards Mannuthy/Thrissur. This route is good too but from Vadakkencherry you may find more traffic on NH 47.

And on the Pollachi-Kollengode road somewhere near Zamin Uthukuli there is a Only Coffee outlet - excellent Kumbakonam degree coffee and clean rest room.

Refer my earlier post on this route here.

Sorry for replying late, I just saw the post now. Hope my recommendation would be useful if you have not yet completed your tour. I had visited Ganeshpuri often before and I stayed at the Guest house run by the Nithyananda Swami Temple Trust - but be specific in asking for the new ones that have been constructed. It is definitely clean than the other private hotels.

Hope this helps.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Guys,

Any good recommendations for accomodation in Pondicherry in Last week of Dec. After 25 Dec till Jan 1, any two days are ok.

I know its a last minute rush, but a decent hotel with clean restrooms should do.

Appreciate your help

Try Hotel Surguru, close to Ashram and main city areas.
Hotel Mars may also be an option, do check there.
I've also heard about St.James Court, try there too - it's a resort on East Coast Road, close to Pondicherry town.

Hotel Annamalai and Ananda Inn are good hotels in Pondicherry. Hotel Mass near bus stand is a budget option with clean rooms. If you want to stay away from town then St james court as suggested by @NPV is an affordable option right on the beach and closer to ashram but its not that well maintained.
