Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Need suggestions for hotels in Thrissur.
Will be staying 1 day reaching by 2pm and checking out by 11am following day.
Event to attend is at MG Road, Round West Thrissur.
Need a decent AC room;and safe car parking.

Have stayed at Trichur towers several years ago. Is it still around and will that be nearby to this event location ?

Thanks Ranjith.
Between the 2, was tending more towards Merlin, due to the history associated with the place (possible old world charm) and per their website it has been refurbished.

Also, how about Elite ? Is it good and will it be too far from M G Road ?

What would be the order of recommendation to choose between these ? Let me know your thoughts.

I would only consider Pooram or I missed out on this-Joys Palace.http://www.joyshotels.com/rooms.html

Check out Joys palace, its a good place as well.

Thrissur is a small place so MG road to anywhere in the town is not more than 10mins by a rickshaw.

Elite is old glory now.

I stayed at one of the Woodbriar group bungalows last year and it was good. Most of them have 3/4 bedrooms. You can rent the full bungalow.

Apart from that, there is the Sinnadorai bungalow which is the T-bhp favorite.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

@SILVERWOOD - Sorry I saw your quoted post and was confused thinking you did not find vacancy at woodbriar so suggested waterfalls;in fact it was the other way round!

Also, that's a lot of research on various options thanks for sharing! The prices seem to have gone up significantly as well.

On my trip I'd stayed at NEPC also - excellent location but place is mediocre and food and service slow. They were not able to cope up with guests in just 3 rooms! They also have a largish bungalow on the opposite side behind their chairman's Villa. But again given that you don't have good options for food outside the estate it may not be a great option.

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Please suggest some good resorts in Mangalore for two families with two kids each, not be very expensive though.
Also, can any one share feedback on Paradise Isle beach resort, Malpe?

During our visit to Pilikula, I'd seen a JLR Jungle Lodges property that seemed interesting, you may want to try that. This place is outside the city so do keep that in mind. No first hand experience of staying there though. Also, kids may enjoy the place there is a water theme park nearby, probably walking distance.

I suggest you try Summersands Beach Resort about 9 kms away from town towards kerala border.Being bang on the beach it is a nice location for a quiet holiday by the pool or seaside.Food is quiet good with mangalorean cuisine also available. You can get more details at their website
