Try PLA Regency and Sara Regency. Sara Regency is more costlier of the two.

Hotel Pearline. Its pretty good. Stayed there last December. Neat clean rooms, has a pool with timings though it will be cold. Food is good. And has a small park of sorts for kids. But will require advance reservation.

Ballal Residency is very good, just off Residency Road, close to Brigade Road junction. Not sure about tariffs but should be reasonable.
Of course there are lots of other upmarket star hotels in the area like Taj Vivanta, Oberoi, The Park, etc

Thanks NPV, I booked Lemon Tree Premier, Ulsoor Lake. How should I reach there travelling from Cochin by road? Am not familiar with Bangalore.

This is on St. Johns Road near ulsoor lake. When you say by road, I'm assuming you're driving - once you enter Bangalore on Hosur road keep straight. You can take the elevated road and on coming down the elevated road keep straight at all signals and you will reach residency road. Turn right here and straight at next signal (brigade road junction). Road will curve to left near mayo hall and then you're at MG road signal. Here, turn right and at next signal turn left (Dickenson road). Straight at next 2 signals and road curves to left. At the next signal turn right and you're on St John's road.
Keep straight and you will find Lemon tree hotel on right side so need to make a U turn ahead.
Hope this helps.

At the Residency Road junction you will see Karnataka Power Transmission's Sub station and you need to turn right here, don't go straight!

Here's a picture of the junction for your reference - turn right at this signal

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Can someone recommend a decent stay at Kollur near Mookambika temple for one person. I just checked out Mookambika Palace. It seems to be Rs1500+ tax which seems to be a bit pricy.

Any other options out there. It would be great if the place is near to the temple.

Mookambika Palace is probably the most upmarket hotel in Kollur and was opened sometime last year.

Please check the Kollur thread - I think there were recommendations for Abimon Residency which is also close to the temple. Other than these, not too many options in Kollur. Alternately, consider staying at Udupi - I guess tariffs of hotels there will also be in the range of Mookambika Palace or higher.
