Thanks Ranjit, as usual excellent suggestion from you
I heard about this place from @ampere who responded on another thread earlier.

As expected, accommodation is unavailable at this place for the upcoming long weekend.

We have now decided to just stay back in Bangalore and use the time to catch up with friends and relatives during the Dussehra season

Re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Hi folks,

I would need to stay in Hyderabad for 4-5 days during the Diwali week , looking for a decent, clean, and family-friendly hotel in the 2k-4k range. Ideally around Begumpet or Banjara Hills - even Secunderabad should be ok.

Also - do any of the local hotels give bigger rooms? ( I have a 2+3 family with one kid now in the "adult" category as far as hotel bookings go ) Or do I have to go for two rooms?

Responses will be greatly appreciated!!

You could check with the hotels if they do have a suite, then it should serve your purpose.

Some of the hotels I would suggest in random order are :

Mango MG Road.
United 21,Secunderabad
Justa
Taj Vivanta Begumpet
Green Park Begumpet
Marigold Begumpet
Fortune Vallabha,RD 12,Banjara
Minerva Banjara
Dasapalla Banjara
Haritha Plaza (APTDC),Begumpet
Manasarovar Fern,Begumpet

Re: Kerala Guys ,where in kerala are you residing?

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I am planning to go to Kerala on Wednesday for 3 days with my teenage son. Can any one of you guide me to some clean, airconditioned, value-for-money hotels in Ernakulam and Allepey? Easy accessiblity would be a plus since I don't have a car there. Both places are unfamiliar to me, so I would appreciate your help.

Last time I stayed at the Kallada Hotel in Irinjalakuda and it was quite good and reasonable, so I am looking for something similar.

Also if you could point out to a couple of things we could do in both places, that would be helpful.

Try Katriya Hotel on Raj Bhawan Road. It is a 4-star property. Very centrally located. You can bargain and manage rooms from them for around 2,500 all inclusive per night including breakfast for double occupancy. Safe secure private parking within the premises is an added advantage.

I stayed at Katriya last November. I had mixed feelings about this one. Rooms are big and has all the bells and whistles of a 4 star property. But it was evident that the hotel has lost sheen and living in its bygone era!

Terrible service issues and no money is being put back into the upkeep of the hotel- is very evident. They are just clinging onto the ITC aura imo.
