re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

I know that this is a short notice, but need help urgently !

Any excellent place to stay in Coorg for the weekend 12th October to 15th October?

Needed for some guests visiting from the US.

Both Club Mahindra and Taj Vivanta are full - Orange County is a tad expensive.

Thanks in advance for your great suggestions !

Some of the options are:
Kadkani River Resort
Windflower
Amanavana Resort

*I haven't stayed at these myself but heard from friends who did.
Kadkani was highly recommended by them but not so good comments about Amanavana.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

Need help from Banglorians,

We are group of 13 ppl going on a Karnataka temple visit. Would be reaching bengaluru 24th October morning by Bengaluru Mail. We are leaving to a resort at Bhadravathi which is about 6 hours from Bengaluru. We need a place where we can take bath and refresh our selves in the morning at bengaluru. We are ready to pay a nominal amount. There is no point in taking a room at hotel since we would be hardly staying for 1 hour in the room. Can any one suggest a place. The place should be near Majestic Station and should be clean and decent as most of the ppl coming with me would be women above 50 years.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

You could explore renting out retiring rooms at the rail station itself. That would be the most convenient and economical solution. You can find more details here http://www.swr.indianrailways.gov.in...id=0,2,266,380

There is a 45 bed non AC and a 18 bed AC dormitory mentioned at Rs. 125 & Rs.225 for 12 hours. The rates would be per person. These should have separate washroom facilities for women and men. You will need to liaise with the Station Master. The SM has a lot of leeway in renting these out and since you need only to freshen up, he may agree to charge for X but allow 2X to use the facility, this is my assumption looking at the demographic of your group and the usage thereof.

Of course one cannot expect a star hotel type of facilities but these should be better than the typical hotels that are found in the neighborhood of the rail stations in any city.

re: A thread on Accommodation & Rates

hey guys could anyone of you suggest me a good hotel to stay in Bangalore, place should be around/near to yeshwantpur station/tumkur road 2-3 kms radius is fine but should be easy accessible and not inside narrow roads. Should have good parking facility and nothing fancy but a clean basic AC room preferred. There are so many options and I don't know where to go so any suggestion by you local guys are welcome.

Found this on an earlier page of this thread, hotel Parijath is close to Yeshwanthpur flyover and was recommended by Parag - link
I also posted a link in my reply to your similar post on the Bangalore-Goa thread - that link has a recommendation by Ranjit for Hotel Naveen Regency in Tumkur (if you want to escape Bangalore city traffic that may be an option as well).

Naveen regency at tumkur on NH4 is good. Stayed there last week. Decent rooms, parking and an ac room may cost you around 2200 per night for twin occupancy. I stayed non ac as it was very pleasant weather in tumkur. I was charged around 1500 for one day / night.

Have a safe trip
