hi

I am more into heavy metal, melodic death...Few bands I listen to are Arch Enemy, Amon Amarth, Black Sabbath, COF, sentenced, Tiamat, Alice in Chains, Pantera, satyricon, dark tranquility. I assume we have a huge base of melodic death fans on team-bhp. On the lighter side I listen to Eric claption & Sting.

What do you guys listen to when you drive (or) at home? My favorite guitarist include Eric Clapton & Dimebag.

Did anyone get a chance to go for the satyricon concert, would be great if you could share your experience?

cheers:

Satyricon was Sa(t)d. They were not quite tight on stage. The sound was off.

Sepultura show so far in BLR was the best. Megadeth also was not as good.

My fav, which I can recall.

COB
Arch Enemy
Nightwish
Sinergy
Hammerfall
Dragonforce
Falconer
Judas Priest
Within Temptation
Megadeth

and a bunch which I cannot recall now...

Note. Iron Maiden tops my list for all music, however though many call them Heavy Metal, they are more a Super Tight Very Hard Rock band, with Triple Leads.

Feb 15th, seems so far away!

By the way, What are some of the best Metal numbers to show off your car sound stage? This thread is the right place to ask this question.

I am not a big fan of Metal, but I occasionally enjoy metallic Powermetal.
Apart from Blind Guardian, any other good band you can recommend in the genre?

Yes!!

Manowar - The best power metal band ever!!!! Amazing music though the lyrics can be a bit cheesy , however dont let that discourage you. Though Im not too big on Power Metal but Manowar is one of my all time favorite bands. what got me into Manowar was the music and what has made me a big fan is the whole philosophy behind the music. It's about being a free individual, living life like a warrior, fighting your own battles and never bowing down or kneeling in the face of adversity. I would strongly recommend this band to anyone who is into hard rock / metal. Some of the music gives me goosebumps at every listen and gets me totally charged up and ready to go like a mad frothing berserker !!!

If you're new to Manowar I would suggest you start with their album "Kingdom Of Steel". It's quite a diverse album featuring your high tempo chugging heavy metal, power ballads and even choirs!!!! A song from the album " Crown and the ring" was recorded with a choir in London's St. Paul cathedral!!!

Another great Maonowar album is their recent "Warriors of the World' which is a bit heavier but equally diverse. It also has the vocalist doing a rendition of "Nessun Dorma"!!! A metal band doing "nessun Dorma" and it totally kicks pavarotti's ***!!

Be warned this is not your average trendy Linkin Park, Korn type pseudo metal. If you're into nu metal steer clear of Manowar. However if you like timeless classic heavy metal ........this will open the gates to Valhalla for you!!! Welcome to the Kingdom of Steel <lml

here's a link to the official website: Manowar - The Kingdom Of Steel

PS: Do give me your feedback when you listen to Manowar

I like Nu metal also, but along with that I enjoy Melodic hair metal and power ballad kind of stuff.
So I will definitely try that
