Reliance wellness has Neulife stickers on em right?

Then I would assume they are safe, but then buy directly from neulife? Prices from reliance have been discussed a few pages earlier.

Yes the neulife sticler is there and well they give 10% off the neulife sticker price - my question was more around the fact that hopefully reliance won't tamper with the contents. There seems to be no neulife store in bangy - but a lot of members buy from some neulife salesman- i'd rather trust reliance over a single neulife guy though - as chances of a single person tampering are always more over reliance :)

I guess you mean NUTRILITE DAILY, it's the only multi-vit. supplement they have in the Indian market. I've been taking it daily (comes in the form of oval tablets, 1 with breakfast or lunch every day) and have found quite an improvement in my overall health over the last 2 years. 'never faced any side-effects as all their food supplements are natural, made from phyto(plant-based) nutrients and only from certified organic farms, and are a much better alternative to the pharmaceutical-based supplements sold at chemists'.

The cost would seem exorbitant at first, esp. when you buy them at MRP, but then if you calculate the amount of vitamins you need per day taken from a balanced diet (does such a thing exist today?) of entirely organic vegetables/fruits (which you don't get everywhere, and they'd cost more than those we get at regular stores/supermarkets anyway) and the time you'd have to spend in consuming all those every single day, this seems a far more economical and convenient alternative.

Your comparing 3 meals to a pill. Compare a a pill to a pill and Nutrilite is crazy expensive. It is not economical when there are other daily vitamins and other stronger vitamins for bodybuilders available cheaper.

I mean look at good old revital, etc for daily health or something like opti-men etc if you are training.

Guys, any one of you using heart rate monitor? How much would it cost and which are the best brands to go for?

Try Polar it would cost you about 4k

Seconding Polar. Well known, probably available around where you live.

Mblova;1355399]It is quite possible that there has been tampering done to the supplements you purchased in India. To really check you would have to send a sample to a lab and have an analysis done. I mean sure you could visually compare it to a product that you know is legitimate but when it comes to pills and powder it is very hard to verify without a proper analysis.
PM if you want to discuss a proxy from the US.
Of course it's always easier to buy from the US. However, how do we come up with the "jugad" of having them imported into India without paying "sarkari department" their share of "chai-pani".

You paid 100 dollars for protein!?! Jeez. What you need to do is set up a proxy in the US(a buyer) who then ships it to you when you give him the money. I can do this for a few vetted and trusted members on this forum
Yup.I guess most of the other members end up spending a similar amount of $$ for their products, depending on what they take.

Quote:

1. Stop visiting GNC. put more simply, STOP! NO! DON'T GO! NAA!!:Shockked:
2. Artificial sweeteners are not similar to (whey) protein; they can be easily fathomed (simple test: Whey protein will NOT melt in your mouth.)
3. cut out the middlemen, go to the source. That means your trainer doesn't shop for you.
4. Learn about:
a) counterfeits
b) counterfeiters
5. How about, we raise the bar, and buy 5lbs of the "best, sweetest" protein for 2700-odd bucks?

merry R&D!!:D
1. If no GNC, where else can "reliable" stuff be purchased.

2. You're right. However, the downside is that you only get to know about the sweetners after u've purchased the products. Hence, point # 1 gains more significance.
3. Point number 5 of yours has my undivided attention. Waiting for more details:)

Though Stanher's statement vaguely resembles an Amway Product pitch, i'm going to back his views up (not just because I admire his knowledge about cars). I've been given a demonstration of this multi, and ONLY this multi by a VERY good practicing general physician. Anyone can do it. Add one crushed pill to Betadine/Iodine.

I dont know the chemistry behind it but the result is pretty impressive :D
On the other hand, potency of a multi is rarely related to the amount printed on the label, as a miniscule percentage of the ingredients is absorbed by an average (un)healthy body (we're all unhealthy, face it!). Thus, Revital is cheap, but rightly so. And, almost ALL iron pills are exactly that. IRON! use a magnet and find out for yourself!

All in all, I would buy this product if I was looking at multivitamin supplementation. Its about time that I should.
[Disclaimer: I've only ever used this product for 7 days in a row. But those 7 days were pretty decent recovery -from typhoid- days.]

1. From a "Reliable Supplement Store". Preferably one with a name that does not directly imply Reliable, but the word-of-mouth does.
2. Absolutely.
Ask around. Ask your trainer! ask "That Well-Built Guy At The Gym".
3. I'm currently sold on Gaspari, and I know a few people that'll lose business. So in the (present) interest of everyone here, you're going to get a PM.

Have Fun! Everyone! You won't live long enough to regret it...

I'm looking into setting up a proxy for your guys use. The only hard part would be if customs checks all the shipments into India.

What's with all these supplements? What happened to the good old days of eating right and working out properly.

I've never taken any supplements in my life (at least not yet), and have a better physique than a lot of the people at my gym right now.

I've never taken any supplements in my life (at least not yet), and have a better physique than a lot of the people at my gym right now.

The trouble is that the good old days (agreed they were good in this rgeard atleast) of eating right are, in most cases, not practically applicable today.
I'm not sure about Canada, but atleast here in India, you can bet that the average citizen even who knows about eating right, doesn't eat right on a regular basis! I don't know anyone who eats a balanced diet with all organic vegs. and fruits today, not even in our household where both my parents were Nutrition specialists! :)

Working out can still be carried out, even if you don't have access to a gym. And for that matter, it is all the more common today than it was in the good old days (or atleast back in our childhood)
But eating right, ie. balanced diet is practically impossible with the kind of lifestyles we have today, unless you take time/patience out to consuming more of raw vegs. and unpeeled fruits in your diet everyday. That too, organically grown ones, which we rarely get today in the first place. Which is why I feel it doesn't really work when people insist that we eat more of vegs. and fruit given the kind that we get today.

Eating right is tough, but not impossible. Initiallly its difficult but then you get used to it.
For example, I take food with me to office, and do not eat office food as its oily and greasy.
In a few months my weight stabilized to 86kgs from a whopping 100kgs

when I first started exercising, I came down to 93-94kgs, and with diet control, it came down to 86.
I don't really do very vigorous cardio, but am planning to increase cardio so that I can get my weight to 83-84kgs.

As part of balanced diet, we aim to
1. Include salad as part of daily diet (eg cucumber, Tomato, raw onions)
2. Have two different types of seasonal fruits every day
3. Balance pulses and vegetables
4. Have curd every day, along with some milk

Its tougher than going to a restaurant, and eating all that oily stuff, but in the long run benefits are visible. I can jog long without panting, my energy levels are higher, and my driving stamina has improved.

However its not all sanyas. once of twice a week we do eat out! The key is balance.

I would have to agree with your statement. I've actually seen better gains while NOT being on supplements.

I suggest people try the natural way for atleast 6 months before trying supplements. Why 6 months? Because it will check your commitment levels. If you're willing to go the extra mile to eat healthy work out more and life a healthier lifestyle. And then if you find that you are not getting the results you want analyze and then decide on supplements.

folks, all these threads got me interested in doing some search of my own and I found the following link. Shows you how to exercise the right way. Maybe useful to some if not all. By the way, I'm surprised nobody really touched upon the motivation aspect. Nobody can deny the mind-body connection, especially, in something as demanding as body building. You can eat the right food and you can even learn to exercise the right way, but if you lack the motivation or the drive to achieve what you want, its not of much use. It is true of most things in life and body building/weight loss is no different.

A friend of mine who has been a dedicated builder for as long as I have known him, once told me that our body is akin to a car, you can push it the way you want it, but if you want optimum performance you have to get the basics right (read: food, rest, exercise and mental balance). Missing out on any of these will certainly show in your appearance. From my personal experience, I have found that the more I concentrate on working out right and more I focus on the part of the body I'm exercising, the results have been that much better. Goes without saying, you got to give the right fuel to achieve desired results and more importantly, understand your body and push it accordingly because whats right for Arnie or Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler may not be the right thing for you too ! There you go..my 2 cents to this interesting thread. The link is below.
