What happened to Brazil ? Seems all over with a German blitz taking them to a 5-0 lead in the first half itself

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

Starting from the first round, Netherlands lashed their revenge against Spain (2010 finals) and now Germany lashing their revenge against Brazil (2002 finals), if this continues I hope that it will be Argentina vs Germany for the finals where-in Argentina lash their revenge against Germany (2006 Quarter Finals).

Brazil never had the defense . Offense was razor thin. This is exactly what I had mentioned earlier. They are just playing under the shadow of the great team that they once were. Reminds me of the current West Indian cricket team. Hope a they rebuild the team back.

Well played Germany. I'm just not going into how Brazil played. Germany were just too good there. And selfless passing. Ozil, Khedira.

The second half is going to start now, will it now end with 10-0 for Germany?

4 goals in 6 minutes, it looked like a friendly match during this period.

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

7-1. The Brazilian goal was a let down by Germans. The best goal I liked was Kroos' second goal; fooling the two defenders all along. Neuer is another hero, he doubles up as defender, he wanted more goals, picked up and threw balls without wasting any time. was frustrated in the Brazilian goal. Merciless attack or pure professionalism?

Ozeil continues to miss the net! Even the very first goal was not celebrated much. Even the Germans were surprised at that as Brazil was going on an all out attack.

Elephant luck for Germany:

What do you guys think was the best match so far in this World Cup? I feel that it is Brazil vs Chile in the round of 16 was the best and had lots of action.

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

Germany would go into the finals as the favorite now. Are the Germans really that good this time or the Brazilians made it too easy for them? Argentina and Holland would really be psyched out after this scoreline.

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

Brazil never seemed to have a strong defence during the WC. They thrived on their midfield and the flair of Neymar up front. Immobilize them, and the Brazilian defence was left wanting.

Even in the second half, it was obvious that Brazil seemed to have come back stronger, but again that was when they had the ball in the German half of the field. Defence continued to remain shaky, as was the case always.

As for Germany, what a match!! I thought i missed a goal having turned on the TV about 10 mins into the match, but Germany made up with another 4 in the next few mins!! Absolutely selfless passing among the German forwards without going for personal glory. Now that is how you perform as a team.

Lets see how the Netherlands vs Argentina match plays out.

Wow, all those who put their money on Brazil must be bankrupt now
It was Total Annihilation, Total Humiliation with a 7-1 victory for Germany.

The way the Germans played, I don't think even the presence of Thiago Silva and Neymar would have made any difference!

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

What Germany did was total annihilation of Brazilian Football! I think that it will take a lot of time for Brazil to recover from this pounding..

I hate to say this but while the heart if for Argentina, i can't see any team beating the German's! They are clinical, fast and focused!

What a game!

There were two winners, Germans of course and those Brazilian fans. The latter put up a brave and class display, something their team could not.

Re: The Football World Cup 2014 Thread

What a drubbing? What a match? Totally dominated by the Ze Germans. Brazil looked so ordinary team minus their captian Thiago and Neymar although I doubt if they could have stopped the German juggernaut.

My bet is an all European final with Dutch doing the similar fate to Argentina.
