Re: The Scale Model Thread

Flomtsam: Classy monster truck. I have a similar TEREX one by Tomica in 1:87 scale. Tomica was available in 1995-96 and their entire line-up of 1:87 scale cars, trucks, earthmovers, etc was well detailed and finished.

Manish, that stuff tied to the bumper are rubber pieces, possibly to absorb impact in the event of an accident. The actual car also has these and Auto Art has replicated them beautifully.

Now on to some news I came across recently: I was planning to procure an Auto Art BMW M3 Cecotto edition in red since the past couple of months and had almost bought it when I noticed that the front wheels could not be steered by the steering, they could be steered by manually. I checked all the M3 pieces that were available, all were the same. Strange. Auto Art is scaling new heights as far as cost cutting is concerned. Even the red paint job on the M3 was of inferior quality and was not at all worth the Rs. 6000/-+ price.

For me the M3 is a very important car: it was one of the 100 most important cars of the last centuary and a must-have to any genuine collector.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Not really a 'proper' scale model - but this is a scale model Mustang wireless mouse (combining my two loves - automotive and tech )

The Scale Model Thread-mustang.jpg

Apologies if this is in the wrong thread.

For anyone interested, I picked it up from RoadMice

It comes with a micro USB receiver (with an underbody storage slot), carry case, working headlights (with a dedicated switch).

The left and right click buttons + clickable scroll wheel are on the car bonnet if you look closely.

The issue with M3 was unknown to me, I don't care / like the modern stuff.

Unfortunately you don't have much option, Landmark in Spencers plaza is what used to have some decent models. There is a book / toy shop in Adyar who used to stock some decent scale models (I think it is odyssey).

The only issue now a days we don't see any great stuff there.

You can buy online. Firstcry.com stocks lot of welly stuff and with free shipping it's a good choice. I bought from them, nice.

For Sunstar, Autoart, Welly, Bburago, Maisto and other stuff - try dreamcarmodels.com - I bought from him too, nice chap to deal with.

For serious stuff - check with Automania and Gif centre in Mumbai. Model art (Creative Education) bangalore are the Dealers of Autoart model.

Now on to some stuff.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

The time period of modifying my post had passed its limit and therefore could not modify the same. Any way here it is

Did an impromtu photoshoot for the scooters. The setup includes a whiite background, two CFLl table lamps and a big improvement of a 35 watt CFL with 2400 lumen rating, this was in a white round paper lamp shade to get a diffused lighting.
All praises if any should go to Ravi aka Diecast. A big thanks to him for the suggestion. Still nee to fine tune the setup.

I am glad you like my models and photography. Thanks.

Ashley2, Rehaan: Thanks for the kind gesture.

And since you liked my pictures, her is just one which is slightly better than the last set.

PS: Sorry for the picture quality, some times uploading on to our server also reduces the quality.

Re: The Scale Model Thread

Manish, brilliant photography. good to see you learning so fast. Have any of your models arrived?

And since you liked my pictures, her is just one which is slightly better than the last set.

Never sell an Auto Art Mitsubishi Lancer. They are one of the best built, detailed and above all extremely rare.

Auto Art no longer makes the Lancers.
