Four down now for England but they are still on track to chase this down. Hoping New Zealand to pick up more wickets and win their first World Cup.

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

England definitely in a spot of bother at 89/4 chasing a modest total of 242 for a win. Star Sports Select Dugout team of Brett Lee, Parthiv Patel and Mike Hesson are unanimous.in predicting a Kiwi victory
I think England just need to focus a bit now and they should be home, but their style of playing and their egos may just let them down.

New Zealand will need some magic to get out of this now. Butler and Stokes partnership has been out of the world.

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

What a match! Befitting of a final!

On the other hand, those 6 accidental runs were sheer luck for England. Extremely frustrating if you ask me

New Zealand however came back very well and the fielding under pressure was absolutely stellar! Keeping their nerves in control down to the last ball and taking two crucial wickets.

This has just reinforced my opinion that the Kiwis deserve the cup. May the best team win! Trent Boult or Neesham would be a good candidate for the super over though I am not sure if Ben Stokes is physically in shape to bat. He has put in an equal amount of effort only to be let down by batsmen at the other end.

Stokes is back. But just hope that NZ just are able to pull this one off. Fingers crossed now.

I am going to cry if NZ loses this. That six on the rope, those ricochet four over throws, what bad luck!! What a game though. Ben Stokes, take a bow.

16 runs off 1 Archer over isn't easy.

I'm going to do the same. I literally screamed in those two instances, and I don't even follow cricket religiously. Those extra runs, plus the subsequent run outs made this final the best cricket match I've ever had the pleasure of sitting through.

Edit: Goodbye guys, gonna bawl my eyes out.

Never thought I would be watching a World Cup final when India is not playing in it. Hard luck for New Zealand. Congrats to England for finally winning the World Cup.

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

Both teams separated only by the number of boundaries they scored!!

Why can't New Zealand ever win major finals?

Re: ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

What a game in the end
A tie, super over ending tied and England winning by virtue of having scored more boundaries! Crazy situations arising like the overthrow due to deflection off the bat of Ben Stokes fetching them 6 runs and helping tie the match, crazy rules deciding the winner, it had it all.

ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019

It was another hand of god kind of moment. The 4 extra runs of a diving Ben Stokes bat made all the difference.

Feel for NZ.

Ben Stokes the new Maradona.
